The holy, உயர்ந்தோன். சன்னிதிப்பட, inf. To attain to the presence of one. பண்டாரசன்னிதி, s. A college, or monastery of Pandarams, of which there are several in different towns in the Tamil district. 2. The chief of the பண் டாரச்சன்னிதி--Note. Into this fraternity, any person of good caste willing to obey the rules of the order, is received and is supported in it, the establishments being richly endowed. One rule of the order is perpetual celibacy. They wear beads; cloths reddened by dipping in red ochre; a kind of pinch-beck-ear ornament, instead of a gold one; entangled locks or unshorn hair. The chief of the order is guru to the rest, and receives homage from them. The members are each called தம்பிரான், Tambiran.
