tāḷi (p. 235) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To season and flavor curries with ghee, spices, &c., they being fried and mashed in a separate pan, the other ingredients in another, and the whole mixed white frying, and then covered, தாளிதஞ்செய்ய. 2. To season some medicines, with ghee, oil, &c., சுவைப்படுத்த. (c.) 3. To macerate lime, சுண்ணாம்பைக்குழையச்செய்ய. அவனைவைத்துத்தாளித்துவிட்டுவிடுவேன். I will put him down, subdue him, &c. நீற்றைத்தாளித்துக்குழை. Mash the lime and macerate it well. வெறுஞ்சட்டிதாளிக்கிறான். He seasons an empty sauce-pan; i. e. he boasts himself. தாளிதம்--தாளிப்பு, s. Seasoning curries, &c. 2. Boasting one's self. தாளிதம்பண்ண, inf. To season curries in a peculiar manner. தாளித்தகறி, s. Curry seasoned, and well mashed while cooking. தாளித்தசுண்ணாம்பு, s. Slaked lime for chewing, or for plaster. தாளித்தநீறு, s. Slaked lime for plastering. தாளித்தநெய், s. [prov.] Ghee mixed with spices and boiled to preserve it. தாளித்தமருந்து, s. Medicines seasoned with ghee, oil, &c. கடுகுதாளிக்க--கறிதாளிக்க, inf. To season curry with mustard, &c. சட்டிதாளிக்க, inf. To season a chatty by frying ghee and spices in it. (c.)
