There are some varieties of honey; குறிஞ்சித்தேன், wild honey from the hills; கொசுத்தேன், பொந்துத்தேன், சிறுதேன், honey of a very small bee; பெருந்தேன், good honey from the hills produced by large bees; கொம்புத்தேன், honey from a bunch of a tree in a comb; செந்தேன், red honey of high flavor. தேன்கூட்டிலேகல்லைவிட்டெறியலாமா. Would one stone a bee's nest? தேனழித்தோர்கையைநக்காரோ. Will not those who handle honey lick their fingers? தேனும்பாலும்போலே. United as closely and sweetly as honey and milk. தேனிறால், s. The honey-forming flower. தேனெறும்பு, s. The largest kind of emment, fond of sweets, பெரியஎறும்பு. தேனொழுகல், v. noun. Drops of honey. தென்கடல், s. One of the seven seas, the sea of honey, ஓர்கடல். தேன்கதலி, s. A sweet kind of plantain, ஓர்வாழை. தேன்குழல்--தேன்குழாய்--தேங்குழல், s. A kind of pastry fried in ghee, fritters, ஓர்பண்ணிகாரம். தேன்குழலுரல், s. A mould for making this pastry. தேன்குழற்கம்பி, s. A piece of pastry. தேன்கூடு, s. A bee's nest or hive, தே னீக்கூட்டம். 2. Cells in a bee's nest. தேன்கூட்டினுட்குழி. 3. Honey-comb, தேனி றால். தேன்தோடை-தேன்றோடை, s. [prov.] The orange tree or fruit. See தோடை. தேன்பூச்சி, s. As தேனீ. (R.) தேன்வதை, s. [prov.] Honey-comb, தேனிறால்.

tēy (p. 259) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To rub away, உரைக்க. 2. To wear away, waste by rubbing; to abrade, fray, fret, அழிக்க. 3. To kill, destroy, கொல்ல. 4. To scour, scrub, polish a wall, furniture, &c., by rubbing, துலக்க. 5. To rub an by the hand as oil, an ointment, &c., to rub one's self or another in washing, எண்ணெய்முதலியதேய்க்க. 6. To efface, erase, obliterate by rubbing, துடை க்க. 7. To give grudgingly, scantily, சிறிது சிறிதாகக்கொடுக்க. (c.) தேய்ச்சுமாய்ச்சுப்போட, inf. [prop. தேய்த்துமாய்த்து.] To waste by little and little. 2. To waste gradually, by various means, in small sums. 3. To pay a debt by little and little, so as to be unsatisfactory. 4. To palliate a crime, connive at it, &c. 5. To ba a work superficially. (c.) தேய்த்துக்குளிக்க, inf. To rub one's self in bathing. தேய்த்துப்புரட்ட, inf. [prov.] To rub ointment, &c., on the body for bathing. 2. To scour one's self in washing. பல்லுத்தேய்க்க, inf. To rub the teeth and clean them. See பல். தேய்ப்பு, v. noun. Rubbing away, rubbing in, as oil, &c., 2. Scouring. scrubbing, polishing by rubbing. 3. Wearing away, wasting away by rubbing, abrasion, attrition. 4. Killing, destruction. தேய்ப்புணி--தேய்ப்பூணி, s. A very sparing, saving person. (Fab.) தேய்ப்புமேய்ப்பு, v. noun. Rubbing and feeding-applied to domestic animals. 2)

tēḷ (p. 260) s. A scorpion, தெறுக்கால், (c.) 2. Scorpio of the Zodiac, விருச்சிகவிராசி. 3. The seventeenth lunar asterism, அனுடநாள். தேள்கொடுக்கு--தேட்கொடுக்கு, s. The sting of a scorpion. தேள்கொட்ட, inf. To sting as a scorpion. தேள்கொட்டபாம்புக்குமந்திரிக்கிறதா. Should one apply the antidote for a snake-bite to a scorpion's sting? 2)
