neṭu (p. 279) adj. Long, extended, &c., நீண்ட; [ex நெடுகை.] நெடுங்கடல், s. The extended sea. 2. The sea along shore. கரையடுத்தகடல். நெடுங்கடலுந்தன்னீர்மைகுன்றும். Even the great sea will become less. (குற.) நெடுங்கடலோடுதல், v. noun. Sailing along the coast, coasting. நெடுங்கடற்படகு, s. A boat which sails along the shore, a coaster. நெடுங்கணக்கு, s. The alphabet, நூ லாதாரம். 2. A long account, reckoning, &c. பெருந்தொகை. 3. [in cant.] An old account, a bad debt, &c., பழங்கடன். நெடுங்கணவாய், s. A long kind of cuttle fish. See கணவாய். நெடுங்கண், s. See ஆமலகம்-- Of நெல்லி, there are அருநெல்லி, சிறுநெல்லி, a species of நெல்லி, yielding a sour fruit; கருநெல்லி, the black நெல்லி, the fruit of which is transparent, often used as a figure for the perfect knowledge of a thing; also for the sperm of woman; பெருநெல்லி, a medicinal tree the wood of which improves brackish water; கீழரிநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus simplex; கீழ்காய்நெல்லி, an herb, see கீழ்; நிலநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus Madraspatan. உள்ளங்கைநெல்லிக்கனிபோலே.
