A small fort, forming an entrance to the larger, சிறு கோட்டை. 2. A citadel. பிள்ளைச்சோமன், s. A small சோமன் cloth for a boy or girl. பிள்ளைத்தக்காளி, s. A shrub. See தக் காளி. பிள்ளைத்தமிழ், s. A poem celebrating the different stages in the infancy and childhood of a hero, comprized in ten parts: 1. காப்பு, putting on the armrings, with magical rites; 2. செங்கீரை, first voluntary movements of the child compared to the motion of herbs by the breeze; 3. தால், lulling the child in the cradle with songs; 4. சப்பாணி, the first clapping of its hands; 5. முத்தம், kissing; 6. வாரானை, extending its hands and calling to be taken; 7. அம்புலி, showing the moon to the infant; 8. சிறுபறை, amusement of a small drum; 9. சிற்றில், making (in play) little houses, or trampling on those made by girls; 1. சிறுதேர். drawing little carriages.--Note. When a heroine is described, instead of the last three, the following are substituted, eighth கழங்கு, a kind of play with brass balls; ninth அம்மானை, a curious play with balls; tenth, ஊசல், swinging. There are two more compositions, bearing this title, one by குமரகுருபரதேசிகர், in praise of மீனாட்சி, the goddess at Madura; the other, by மார்க்கசகாயதேவர், of the childhood of Skanda. பிள்ளைத்தாய்ச்சி, s. A pregnant woman. பிள்ளைத்தேங்காய், s. The best kind of cocoa-nut, reserved for planting, நாற்றுத் தேங்காய். (Jaff.) பிள்ளைத்தேள், s. A centiped; Scolopendra, as மட்டைத்தேள். பிள்ளைப்பிறை, s. The youthful moon, இளஞ்சந்திரன். (p.) பிள்ளைப்பூச்சி, s. A kind of insect, the Gryllus, உழுவான், which going into mud is not defiled--so the spiritual man. பிள்ளைபெற, inf. To bring forth a child. பிள்ளைபெறாதமலடி, s. A barren woman, used of one who is cruel. பிள்ளைப்பெற்றவீடு, s. The house of a lying-in-woman, considered ceremoniously unclean. பிள்ளைப்பேறு, v. noun. [prov.] A nobleman, an eminent person, பெருமையிற்சிறந்தோன். பிள்ளைமார், s. [pl.] Respectable men, gentlemen; men of the பிள்ளை caste. பிள்ளைமை, s. Childishness, puerility, babyhood, any thing infantile, பிள்ளைத்தன் மை. பிள்ளையாண்டான், appel. n. A young man, a youth, boy, lad, வாலிபன். பிள்ளையார், s. The god Ganesa, sometimes, Skanda and Sambanda Mûrti. பிள்ளையார்சதுர்த்தி, s. A fast on the fourth day of the new or full moon in honor of the god Ganesa. பிள்ளையார்சுழி, s. A curve to represent பிள்ளையார். See சுழி. பிள்ளையுண்டாகுதல், v. noun. Becoming pregnant. பிள்ளைவங்கு, s. Terminating of the guilt of brahmanicide. பிரமகபாலம், s. The skull of the upper of fifth head of Brahma, plucked off by Siva, in the form of Bhairava, for pride; and worn by Siva as a part of his garland, or carried in his hand when begging, பிரமன்றலைஓடு. பிரமகற்பம், s. The age of Brahma. See கற்பம். பிரமகன்னிகை, s. A female of the Brahman caste, பிராமணப்பெண். 2. Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமகாதகன், s. Murderer of a brahman, பிராமணக்கொலைபாதகன். பிரமகாயத்திரி, s. Tying together, two stems of sacrificial grass in representation of the sexual union of Siva and Sakti, in the pujah or worship of the கிரி யைக்காரன், ஓர்முடிச்சு; [ex கிரந்தி, knot.] பிரமகுலம், s. The Brahman caste. பிரமகைவர்த்தம், s. One of the eighteen Puranas, in which the sun is regarded as the Supreme Being. See புராணம். (சது.) --The description in the Sans. Dict. is different. பிரமக்கியானம், s. As பிரமஞானம். பிரமக்கியானி, s. See பிரமஞானி. பிரமசடங்கம், s. Touching six members of the body, while repeating the five lettered incantation appropriated to the five faces of Siva, as representing the five operative dcities, ஆறங்கத்தோடு செய்யுஞ்செபம். பிரமசரியம்--பிரமசாரித்துவம், s. The order, condition or religious practice of the Brahmachari or religious unmarried student, நான்கு நிலையினொன்று. பிரமசரியமனுட்டிக்க, inf. To commence the practice of a religious student, commonly about the sixteenth year. பிரமசாபாலம், s. One of the thirty-two Upanishads, உபநிடதமுப்பத்திரண்டினொன்று. பிரமசாரி, s. Success, in acquiring a knowledge of the deity. பிரமசூத்திரம், s. A thread or cord consisting of three threads worn by brahmans, புரிநூல். 2. The name of a treatise, ஓர்நூல். பிரமசைதன்னியம், s. The original or first cause, God, கடவுள். பிரமஞானம், s. Experimental knowledge of the deity. 2. Regarding every thing as god. பிரமஞானி, s. One who has made great attainments in the knowledge of God, so as to become one with Him, பரமஞானி. பிரமதண்டம், s. A stick to support the chin, used by brahmans, in meditation. பிரமதண்டு, s. A stick used by devotees or yogis, யோகதண்டம். 2. See பிரமம், giddiness. பிரமதத்துவம், s. True knowledge of the Supreme deity, மெய்ஞ்ஞானம். பிரமதாயம், s. What is allowed to brahmans, or held free by them. பிரமதானம்--பிரமஸ்தானம், s. The inmost recess in a temple where the chief idol is placed, as கர்ப்பக்கிரகம். பிரமதேவன், s. The god Brahma, the Creator or Evolver of worlds. பிரமத்துவம், s. The divine nature, கட வுட்டன்மை. பிரமநிருவாணம், s. Union with the deity, கடவுளுடனொன்றுகை. பிரமபதம்--பிரமபதவி, s. The world of Brahma, an inferior state of bliss. பிரமபுத்திரம், s. The river, Brahmaputra, ஓர்நதி. பிரமபுத்திரி, s. The Sarasvati river, சரஸ்வதியாறு. 2. The goddess Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமபுரம், s. Seehali, a town in Southern India on the northern bank of the Cavery, சீகாழி. பிரமபுராணம், s. Puranas which teach that Brahma is the chief deity. In the celebrated eighteen there are two of this class. the பிரமம், and the பதுமம். (சது.) பிரமப்பிரளயம், s. The deluge at the end of the life of Brahma, பிரமனாயுள்முடி வில்வரும்பிரளயம். பிரமமணம், s. One of the eight modes of marriage. See மணம். பிரமமுனி--பிரமரிஷி, s. A Rishi of the Brahman caste, as most of them are. பிரமமூலி, s. A medicinal plant. See பிரமி. பிரமயாகம், s. One of the five யாகம், எச்சமைந்தினொன்று. பிரமயோனி, s. The birth, origin, or extraction of a brahman, பிராமணப்பிறப்பு. பிரமரட்சு, s. A savage man of a monstrous size, பருத்தமுருடன். பிரமரந்திரம், s. The tender part of the crown of the head where the bone is not formed in infancy, and through which it is said the soul of a yogi departs when he chooses to die, உச்சித்துவாரம். பிரமராட்சதன், s. A goblin or savage animated by the soul of a brahman, who in a former birth died with unexpiated sin. பிரமராட்சதி-பிரமராட்சதை, s. The ghost of a brahmani who having died a violent death appears in the form of a demon, inhabiting trees and possessing all the knowledge previously obtained, பார்ப் பாரப்பெண்பேய். பிரமலிபி, s. The writing of Brahma in the forehead of all persons before birth; fate, destiny. See தலைஎழுத்து. பிரமலிபிதப்பாது. The writing of Brahma will not fail. பிரமலோகம், s. The world and heaven of Brahma, being the seventh and highest of the seven upper worlds, also called சத்தியலோகம். (சது.) பிரமவமிசம், s. Lineage in succession from Brahma. 2. The race of brahmans, பிராமணசாதி. பிரமவாதம், s. The religious tenets of the Vedas considered systematically, வேதமதம். பிரமவித்து, s. One of the four grades of those who pursue a true and perfect knowledge of the deity, நால்வகைமுத்தரி லொருவன். பிரமவிந்து--பிரமபிந்து. s. The seed, or progeny of a brahman, &c., பிராமணவிந்து. 2. A letter which is the origin of all letters, and the prime root of all prayers and incantations, மூலவெ ழுத்து. பிரமாண்டம், s. The system of worlds, as created by Brahma, உலகம். 2. One of the eighteen Puranas, பதினெண்புரா ணத்தொன்று. 3. [fig.] That which is large, gigantic, huge, colossal, காத்திரம். (usage.) பிரமாண்டநாயகன், s. Lord of the universe, கடவுள். 2.
