kol (p. 146) --கொல்லு, கிறேன், கொன்றேன், வேன், கொல்ல, v. a. To take life, kill, slay, murder, கொலைசெய்ய. 2. To deprive mercury of its metallic properties by oxidation; to kill mercury, &c., இரசமுதலிய வற்றைக்கொல்ல. (c.) 3. (fig.) To rise, to originate, to spring forth, to come into existence, to emanate, to be born, உற்பலிக்க. 3. To spring, to sprout, முளைக்க. 4. Meaning, signification, interpretation, சொற்பொருள். 4. Width, breadth, extent, space, அகலம். பயனிலாள், s. A harlot as reaping no good either in this life or the next, வேசி. பயனிலி, appel. n. A useless man, woman, or thing. பயனிலை, s.
