atṭṭu (p. 10) கிறேன், அதட்டினேன், வேன், அதட்ட, v. a. To rebuke authoritatively and vehemently, கண்டிக்க. 2. To make a sudden or vehement noise to frighten beasts, &c., உரப்ப. 3. To rant, hector, bluster, upbraid, &c., in order to awe, or silence. உறுக்க. 4. (பிங்.) To attempt to refute one by sophistry and blustering, அமட்ட. அதட்டிப்பார்க்க, inf. To sound one's mind by menacing. அதட்டிமாடோட்டினான். Making a noise he drove away the beast. அதட்டல், v. noun. Reproving, &c. அதட்டு, v. noun. Rebuke, reproof, refutation, rant, hector, உறுக்கு. 18)

amṭṭu (p. 19) கிறேன், அமட்டினேன், வேன், அமட்ட, v. a. To reprimand, upbraid, அதட்ட. 2. To inveigle, entrap, ensnare, சிக்குப்படுத்த. 3. To hector, bully, overpower by sophistry, உறுக்க. 4. To move tiles, &c., புரட்ட. 5. To overcome one, as sleep, மேற்கொள்ள. 6. v. n. To wabble, turn aside, be unsteady as a bench with uneven legs, புரள. என்னைத்தூக்கமமட்டுகிறது. Sleep overcomes me. அமட்டு--அமட்டுகை, v. noun. Threatening, threat, menace. 8)

pkṭṭu (p. 286) கிறேன், பகட்டினேன், வேன், பகட்ட, v. n. To make a false show, to be foppish, finical, நாகரீகங்காட்ட. 2. (R.) To loathe, அரோசிக்க. 3. To be drowsy, நித்தி ரைமயக்க. 4. v. a. To charm, fascinate, allure, attract, மயக்க. 5. To deceive, circumvent, misrepresent--as in selling goods, வஞ்சிக்க. 6. To menace, bully, hector, threaten, in order to affect an object, அமட்ட. போசனம்பண்ணினபின்பு பகட்டிவாந்தி பண்ணி னான். After he has eaten he loathed, and vomited, the food. தூக்கம்பகட்டுகிறது. I am drowsy. பகட்டிப்பறிக்க, inf. To wheedle away money, as a fraudulent dealer, a juggler, or a dancing woman. 13)
