அதி
ati (p. 10) . A particle used as a prefix to words from Sanscrit to increase their meaning, மிகுதிப்பொருளைக்காட்டுமடைசொல். Wils. p. 15. ATI. அதிகதை, s. A speech or expression which has no sense, a nonsensical speech, வெற்றுரை. அதிகாசம், s. Violent or loud laughter, horse laugh, பெருநகை. Wils. p. 18. ATIHASA. அதிகாலம்--அதிகாலை, s. உதிர்
utir (p. 60) --உதிரு, கிறது, உதிர்ந்தது, உ திரும், உதிர, v. n. To drop off, fall off--as leaves, fruits, &c.; to be blasted, nipped, to fall off--as the hair, by disease or age, சொரிய. 2. To be shaken with the wind or otherwise, அசைக்கப்பட்டுதிர. 3. To crumble, fall to pieces as cakes (பிட்டு), பிதிர. 4. To fall as tears, சிந்த. 5. To die (used in imprecations), சாவ. நீசீக்கிரமுதிர்ந்துபோவாய். You shall die soon (a curse). தாரகையுதிர்ந்த. The stars fell. (ஸ்காந்தம்.) பூவுதிரப்பிஞ்சுதிரக்காயுதிரக்கனியுதிர. Let blossoms, buds, unripe fruits, and fruits drop off; i. e. let people of all ages die--an imprecation. உதிர்ந்தசருகு, s. Withered leaves fallen from the tree. உதிர்ந்தசருகுணவொழியவுணவில்லான். He who feeds upon dry leaves abstaining from all kinds of food. (பாரதம்) உதிர்பருவம், s. The quality or consistency of a thing that easily crumbles. உதிர்மணல், s. Loose sand a little moist. இலையுதிர்காலம், s. The season of the fall of the leaf. உதிரி, s. That which falls off, or is separated, exfoliation, உதிர்ந்தது. 2. A disease, smallpox of various kinds, so called from the scabs falling off, ஓர்வைசூரி. 3. A species of plantain, ஓர்வகைவாழை. உதிரிக்குத்து, s. Aching pain incident to one attacked with உதிரி. உதிரித்தழும்பு, s. The pits left by the smallpox, அம்மைவடு. வரகுதிரி, s. A species of smallpox whose pustules are remarkably diminutive, like வரகு seeds. சருகுதிரி, s. A species of smallpox attended by the sloughing away of the affected flesh. மிளகுதிரி, s. A species of smallpox, the pustules of which are the size of pepper seeds. கல்லுதிரி, s. A species of smallpox the pustules of which are very large. உதிர், s. Powder, dust, any thing crumbled, பொடி. உதிர்வு, v. noun. Falling off, &c., உதிர்கை. 2. Crumbling to pieces, உகுகை. 20)
உரைசு
uraicu (p. 65) --உரைஞ்சு, கிறேன், உரை சினேன்--உரைஞ்சினேன், வேன், உரைச--உரைஞ் ச, (உரைஞ்சு, is a cor. of உரிஞ்சு,) v. n. To rub one's self against a thing, to rub as beasts against a post, &c., to chafe, உரிஞ. 2. To wear away by use--as the feet by walking, as a seat by sitting, &c., தேய. 3. v. a. To rub hard, scour, scrape, or scratch --as with the back of a nail, to brush, clean off, or waste away by rubbing, தேய்க்க. 4. To graze, gall, bruise by grazing, சீக்க. (பிங்க.) ஆனையுமானையுமுதுகுரைஞ்சஇடையிலிருந்தகொசுகு நசுங்குகிறது. When elephants rub against each other, gnats are crushed. 62) *

Delight, gratification, pleasure, இன்பம். 12. Intensity, உக்கிரம். 13. Newness, modernness, புதுமை. 14. Sounding, sonorousness, ஓசை. 15. Time in minute or indivisible portions, பொழுது. 16. A flower-garden, நந்தனவனம். 17. Merriment, களிப்பு. 18. A vampire, a goblin, பிசாசம். 19. A corpse, பிணம். 2. Explication, விளக்கம். 21. (இரேவ.) A beggar's bowl, இரப்போர்கலம். The mode of using the hands in dancing which are of twenty-three kinds, viz.: 1. பதாகை, stretching all the five fingers keeping them close and straight. 2. திரிபதாகை, bending the thumb and ring-finger and stretching the rest. 3. பிறை, keeping the other four fingers close together separately from the thumb. 4. சர்ப்பசிரம், keeping the palm of the hand curved. 5. சாளையம், bending the little finger and ring-finger and stretching the rest. 6. மான்றலை, keeping the middle three fing ers down and lifting the other two up. 7. பதுமகோசரம், keeping up the palm of the hand opened having the fingers bent. 8. சிலீமுகம், keeping the tip of the forefinger at the bottom of the thumb and the tips of each of the rest at the middle of the adjoining finger. 9. முட்டி, folding all the four fingers and keeping the thumb above the middle finger. 1. சிக ரம், folding all the other fingers and keeping the thumb stretched. 11. சூசி, stretching the pointing finger and keeping the thumb curved while the others are folded. 12. கபித்தம், keeping the tips of the thumb and fore-finger close together and the other folded. 13. கடகம், keeping the tips of the thumb and forefinger together, the middle finger bent and the rest stretched. 14. சந்தங்கிஷம், keeping the tips of the thumb and pointing finger together, stretching the rest. 15. அஞ்சவாய், keeping the ringfinger and little finger separately stretched up and keeping the tips of the rest together. 16. முகிழ், keeping the tips of all the fingers together. 17. திரிலிங்கம், keeping the tips of the thumb and pointing finger together, the rest curved and the wrist a little bent. 18. மிருகசிரம், stretching up the pointing finger and the little finger and keeping the rest close together. 19. சிங்கநகம், keeping up the palm of the hand having the fingers almost folded. 2. கூர்மம், stretching up the middle finger while the others are bent down. 21. பூரணம், stretching all the five fingers straight not being close together. 22. மென்னிலை, bending the thumb and stretching up the rest. 23. முன்னதம், separating the fore-finger from the rest. கரவாளம், s. A sword, கைவாள். கராசலம், s. An elephant--as having a mountain (its body) connected with its trunk, யானை. கராசனம், s. A tiger, as resting on its paws, புலி. 83)
