ceṭil (p. 202) --செடல், s. A machine consisting of a standing post with a long swivel or sweep, on one end of which a person is suspended by a hook fastened into the integuments of the back, and being raised high in the air, is swung round, உடல்குத்தியாடுங்கருவி. (c.) செடிலாட--செடிற்குத்தியாட, inf. To swing on hooks, to celebrate the செடில் festival. செடிலாட்டம்-செடிலூசல்-உச்சிச்செ டில். s. Hook swinging in the air, in honor of the goddess மாரியம்மன். பக்கச்செடில், s. A self torture by running sticks of iron, &c., through the sides, and dancing back and forth. வண்டிச்செடிலாடல், v. noun.
