Striking in of the itch--considered dangerous. சிரங்கெரிவு, s. Irritation or burning of the itch. தோடகச்சிரங்கு--தோடஞ்சிரங்கு--தோ ட்டுச்சிரங்கு, s. [prov.] A kind of itch with large scabby ulcers. நமுட்டுச்சிரங்கு, s. Itch like prickly heat. ஆனைச்சிரங்கு, s. A kind of itch with very large blotches. See ஆனை. அரிசிரங்கு, s. See அரி, v. சொறிசிரங்கு, s. A small kind of itch causing very annoying sensations. சிறுசிரங்கு, s. Small eruptions on the skin. உமிச்சிரங்கு, s. He comes to rub his back against me; i. e. he thinks me of no account, or, comes to quarrel with me. சொறித்தேமல், s. A ring-worm. சொறித்தவளை, s. [also சொறியாந்த வளை.] A large kind of frog, whose skin is rough. சொறிநாய்--சொறிபிடித்தநாய், s. An itchy dog. (c.) சொறியன், s. A scabby person, 2. (M. D.) A frog, ஓர்தவளை. சொறியாடு, s. A scabby sheep. சொறியெழும்ப, inf. [prov.] To rise as splinters, roughness in timber, &c. பாற்சொறி, s. Scabbiness from want of milk. 14)

coṟi (p. 212) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. To itch, tingle, as severe itching, நமை யுண்டாக. 2. v. a. To scratch in order to allay itching, சுறண்ட. 3. (fig.) To crave, solicit meanly, கெஞ்சிக்கேட்க. (c.) சொறிகட்டை, s. [prov.] A rubbing stone or post, for cattle. சொறிகட்டையானவன், appel. n. A mean, spiritless person; (lit.) a rubbing post. சொறிகரப்பன், s. Scurf that causes intense itching. சொறிசிரங்கு, s. Small itch. See சிர ங்கு. சொறிந்துகொடுக்க, inf. To urge, incite, pat. சொறிந்துகொண்டிராமல்சுறுக்காகச்செய். Do not scratch over it, but do it quickly. சொறிந்துதேயாதஎண்ணெயும் பரிந்திடாதசோறும் பாழ். Oil not well rubbed in, and rice given without kindness, are lost. சொறிவு, v. noun.
