cōmpu (p. 212) கிறேன், சோம்பினேன், வேன், சோம்ப, v. n. To be lethargic, apathetic, dull, மடிவாக. 2. To be idle, lazy, indolent, slow, loitering, sluggish, dilatory, தாமதிக்க. 3. To be sleepy, drowsy, heavy, உறங்க. 4. To droop, fail, fade, &c., as persons or plants, வாட. 5. To be cast down, dejected --as the countenance, or mind; to be dispirited, சோர. Compare சூம்பு. பிள்ளைசோம்பிப்போயிற்று. The child is emaciated spiritless, drooping. சோம்பாமை, v. noun. (neg.) Activity, unweariness, indefatigability, தள ராமை. சோம்பி, appel. n. (mas. and fem.)
