To whoop, vociferate inarticulately or otherwise--as in driving cattle, scaring away birds, beasts, or human beings, to menace or intimidate by shouts, to bluster, shout, call, அதட்ட. 2. To urge forward beasts of burden with shouts, துரத்த. 3. (p.) To pronounce with aspiration, as the second letter in each of the five series of Sanscrit gutterals, உரத் தொலிக்க. ஆனையையுரப்பிலிடு. Frighten away, or drive the elephants along. ஒருவரேயெதிரினிங்ஙனுரப்பியேதுரப்பர். If but one should oppose them, he may rout them all merely by a menacing shout. உரப்பிப்பார்க்க, inf. kūṭai (p. 133) s. An oblong or other kind of basket, made of ratan, ola, &c., பிரம்புமுதலிய வற்றிற்செய்தகூடை. 2. [local.] An ola covering from rain, மழைக்கூடை. 3. A variety in dancing, கூத்தின்விகற்பம். கூடைபின்ன--கூடைமுடைய, inf. To plat கூடை bags or baskets. அங்கமணிக்கூடை, s. [local.] A basket of presents to a newly married girl, &c. இறைகூடை, கொடிக்கூடை, கொட்டுக்கூடை, சாட்டைக்கூடை, தட்டுக்கூடை, தாற்றுக்கூடை, தூற்றுக்கூடை, நெல்லுக்கூடை, பனாட்டுக்கூடை, பிரப்பங்கூடை, புட்டுக்கூடை, பூக்கூடை, வடுவக் கூடை are baskets of different kinds and for different uses, See these words. 27)

A spoon used in cooking rice-cakes. Compare சட்டகப்பை. தட்டுச்சுளகு, s. A broad, shallow, winnowing fan, commonly square. தட்டுச்சுற்று, v. noun. Waving a salver with burning camphor before an idol. சோற்றுத்தட்டு, s. A perforated cover for straining congy water from boiled rice. பூந்தட்டு, s. A salver for presenting flowers. தட்டுமணி, s. A necklace of ornamented squares of gold. தட்டுமூட, inf. To join a mortise, a seam, &c. தட்டுவைக்க, inf. To attach snares to the squares, to catch birds. 2. To give one a knock on the head, to give a tap. தட்டுக்கிளி--தட்டுக்கிழி, s. A kind of jumping play from square to square. 2. The squares of the play. தட்டுக்கிளிபாய--தட்டுப்பாய, inf. As தட்டல்த டவல், which see. தட்டாயிருக்க, inf. To be destitute, to be in straits. செலவுக்குத்தட்டாயிருக்கிறது. We are in want of the means of subsistence. தட்டுக்கொட்டு, v. noun. To rice grow high, or tall. 2. To rise to affluence, influence, &c. 3. To be animated with joy, or zeal for an enterprize; to be roused with anger. தட்டிக்கேட்க, inf. Firmness, steadiness, sureness, உறுதி. நிலைவரப்பட்டவன், appel. n. A person who may be depended upon. நிலைவிளக்கு, s. Lamps placed in a square frame in a temple opposite the door; being stationary, not taken for other purposes. See சட்டவிளக்கு. ஒருநிலையாய்நிற்றல், v. noun. Continuing in a stationary posture. 2.
