toḷi (p. 263) s. (St. துவனி.) Sound, noise, intonation, twang, peal, ஒலி. 2. Tone musical sound, கண்டத்திசை. 3. A figure of sound, change of meaning in a word or phrase by change of sound. (c.) தொலிச்சிலேடை, s. A சிலேடை in which there is only one important meaning, a part of the pharase being merely to make the pun, as ஒற்றுப்பெயர்த் தல். தொனியர்த்தம், s. maruttu (p. 344) s. Wind, காற்று. W. p. 644. MARUT. மருத்துக்கள், 7. The seven winds. They are the east, south, west, north; கீழ், under--the lower atmosphere; மேல், above--the upper atmosphere, and பலயோ னியுயிர், wind [life] produced in wombs and matrices. மருத்துவன்--மருத்தன், s.
