[vul. நாட்டாமை.] Chieftaincy of a country, ஊராளுந்தன்மை. நாட்டாண்மைக்காரன், s. Chief of a country or village; a Natamagar. நாட்டாண்மைக்காரி, s. Wife of a Natamagar. 2. A proud forward woman. நாட்டாண்மைப்பண்ண, inf. To manage the office of a Natamagar. நாட்டார், s. [sing. நாட்டான்.] People of a country, தேய்த்தார். 2. Countrymen, rustics, நாட்டுப்புறத்தார். 3. Things injurious to a country, pests, scourges, ஊருக்குள்ள தீங்கு.--One class is seven-fold: 1. தொட்டி யர், strolling jugglers, wizards, witches; 2. திருடர், thieves, robbers; 3. யானை, wild elephants; 4. பன்றி, wild hogs; 5. விட் டில், insects; 6. கிள்ளை, parrots; 7. பெரு மழை, excessive rain.--Another class is eight, fold: 1. விட்டில், locusts and insects; 2. தன்னரசு, anarchy; 3. வேற்ற ரசு, invasion by a foreign power; 4. யானை, elephants; 5. மிகுமழை, excessive rain; 6. மிகுகாற்று, high winds, tempests. 7. கிள்ளை, parrots; 8. நட்டம், dissipation or dancing. Fordableness, ford, தாண்டுதுறை.-- The நிலை, (attitudes) in archery are; 1. பைசாசம், standing with one leg straight and the other bent, as devils are said to stand; 2. மண்டலம், standing with both knees bent out; 3. ஆலீடம், standing with the right knee bent out, and the left foot advanced; 4. பிரத்தியாலீடம், standing with the left knee bent and the right foot advanced. [prov.] Primitive, or native soil, as distinguished from கொட்டுமண், made ground. நிலைமண்டிலஆசிரியப்பா, s. One of the four species of ஆசிரியப்பா. See Beschi's Shen-Tamil Gram. p. 85. நிலைமண்டுதல், v. noun. Making a long stay in a place from home. 2. Sticking closely to a place, as a person, or animal. நிலைமாறுதல், v. noun. Changing place, principles or religion, being proselyted, இடமாறுதல். 2. [in gram.] Being changed in place--as letters, in words, as வைகாசி for வைசாகி, the latter being according to the original, சொல்லினெழுத்துமா றுதல். நிலைமொழி, s.
