tri (p. 225) v. noun. [prov.] Abiding, tarrying, &c.--In Ceylon and some other places it is used in combination with other words, in some of the meanings of தரி, v. தரிய, inf. To stop, to tarry, to be detained, தரித்திருக்க. தரிகொடுக்க, inf. To allow of room, convenience, &c., as a place (superstitiously regarded, or otherwise). தரிகொள்ள, inf. To become settled in a place. 2. To become fixed, stationary. 3. To be permanent, to abide. பிள்ளைகையிலேதங்குதரிகொள்ளவில்லை. The child has been restless. தரியலர், s.
