Discharge of blood from the bowels, ஓர்வகையிரத்தபேதி. இரத்தக்கொதி, s. [prov.] Heat of blood in youth inflamed with sexual desires, lasciviousness. 2. Feverish state of blood, such a state of the system as induces anger, venery, derangement, &c., fulness of system, plethora. இரத்தக்கொழுப்பு, s. High mettle, wantonness, the state of being high-fed, voluptuousness, இரத்தபுஷ்டி. 2. (fig.) Pride, arrogance, &c., கருவம். இரத்தக்கோமாரி, s. A disease of cows producing a discharge of blood, மாட்டுக்குவருமோர்நோய். இரத்தங்கக்க, inf. To raise or eject blood whether from disease or injury. இரத்தங்கன்ற, inf. To turn black and hard--as a bruise or contusion. இரத்தங்குத்திவாங்க--இரத்தமெடு க்க, இரத்தம்வாங்க, inf. To bleed, to take blood from. இரத்தங்குபீரிட--இரத்தம்பீரிட, inf. To spring, flow or spout--as blood from a vein. இரத்தசாகம், s. The செங்கீரை plant. இரத்தசாட்சி, s. Martyrdom. (Christian usage.) இரத்தசூலை, s. Swelling in the abdomen from obstruction of the menses, operating as a preventive of pregnancy, சூதகவாயு. இரத்தச்சுரப்பு, s. Local inflammation, இரத்தவூறல். 2. Fulness of blood, இரத்தப்பெருக்கு. 3. Suffusion of blood from a bruise, இரத்தச்செறிவு. 4. (fig.) Insolence, haughtiness, இரத்தக்கொழுப்பு. இரத்தஞ்சாக, inf. To look aghast, appear pallid. இரத்தஞ்சிந்த, inf. To shed blood. 2. (fig.) To kill. இரத்தஞ்சுண்ட, inf. To have the blood dried--as in emaciation. 2. To turn pale by having the feelings wounded or mortified. 3. To be reduced in flesh by hunger, fasting, &c., be emaciated. இரத்தத்துடிப்பு, v. noun. Thrilling of the blood in seeing or hearing a near relation under suffering, also superstitiously supposed to take place on such an event, though not seen or heard of. இரத்தத்தொடர்வு, s. Relation, consanguinity, இரத்தசம்பந்தம். இரத்தநரம்பு, s. Vein, blood-vessel, இரத்தநாடி. இரத்தபலி, s. Libation of blood which it is supposed some of the deities partake, இரத்தஞ்சிந்தும்பலி. 2. A flood or deluge of blood, இரத்தப்பெருக்கு. இரத்தப்பிரவை, s. One of the seven hells, ஏழுநரகத்தொன்று. இரத்தப்பிரியன், s. A bloodthirsty man. இரத்தப்பீனசம், s. A species of inflammation in the head with discharges of blood. இரத்தப்புடையன், s. A species of the beaver snake, the bite of which speedily causes hemorrhage from the eyes, nose, mouth and other passages. இரத்தமண்டலி, s. A very venomous kind of snake whose bite causes the blood to issue from the pores. இரத்தமாடன், s. A demon fabled to be dreadfully cruel. இரத்தமாரணம், s. koẕuppu (p. 147) v. noun. [substantively.] Fat, grease, lard, நிணம். 2. Plumpness, fullness, corpulency, fleshiness, புஷ்டி. 3. Rank or exuberant growth in vegetation, luxuriance, செழுமை. 4. Excessive richness or fertility in a soil, நிலவளம். 5. Pride, sauciness, impudence, impertinence, wantonness, செருக்கு; [ex கொழு, fatten, &c.] உன்கொழுப்பெடுத்துப்போடுவேன். I will reduce your pride. கொழுப்பாய்ப்பேசுகிறவன். One who speaks petulently or saucily. கொழுப்பானபூமி, s. A rich, fertile soil. கொழுப்பிறக்க, inf. To reduce one's pride. கொழுப்புக்காட்ட, inf. To be saucy, impertinent, wanton. கொழுப்புக்குடல், s. The small intestines of sheep or goats. கொழுப்பேற, inf. To grow proud, insolent, &c. வாய்க்கொழுப்பு, s. Impertinent language, sauciness, insolence. 2)

carīram (p. 167) s. The living human body, the tenement of the soul, மனிதருடல். (c.) 2. Body in general of men or brutes, மிருகாதி களினுடல். W. p. 832. SAREERA. (not com. in Tamil.) சரீரகுணம், s. Temperament, disposition or state of body. 2. The disposition of the body with regard to the different effects of food, &c., on different persons. சரீரக்கட்டு, v. noun. Compactness of body. See கட்டு. சரீரக்கூறு, s. See under கூறு. 2. Any state of the body, as corpulent, thin, &c., thus. 1. வாதசரீரம், a constitution in which flatulent humors prevail, causing bloatedness, &c. 2. பித்தசரீரம், in which the bilious humors preponderate, causing thinness, emaciation, fretfulness, heat, &c. 3. சிலேட்டுமசரீரம், in which phlegmatic humors prevail, causing pulmonary diseases, dryness, &c. சரீரங்கனத்துக்கொள்ள, inf. See under கனம். சரீரங்காய--சரீரங்கரைந்துபோக, inf. To be emaciated, as the body by fever, &c. See காய். v. சரீரசகாயம், s. See under சகாயம். சரீரசங்கட்டம், s. Pain in the body, sickness. சரீரசஞ்சலம், s. Disease, ailment. சரீரசம்ரட்சணை, s. Preservation of the health of the body, nourishment of the body. (Rare.) சரீரசம்பந்த, adj. Belonging or relating to the body. சரீரசவுக்கியம், s. Health, sound state of the body. சரீரசுத்தி, s. Cleanliness, or purification of the body. சரீரஸ்மரணை, s. [com. சரீரசுரணை.] Sense of feeling in the body. சரீரத்திரயம், s. A three-fold enumeration of bodies, as given in the Agama. 1. தூலசரீரம், the gross body which perishes at death. 2. சூக்குமசரீரம், the subtile or ethereal body, or case and immediate organ of the soul, accompanying that through its various transmigrations. It is the embryo or seed of the respective bodies assumed to be, and is, capable of sensations in enjoyment, suffering, &c., beyond those of the grosser body. 3. காரணசரீரம், the original type or embryo of the body, as existing with the soul in its original state. See under காரணம். Another three-fold classification describes bodies as assumed by the soul with its சூக்குமம் adapted to three different states to which it is subject, namely. 1. யாதனாசரீரம், a body adapted to suffering, assigned to the soul for its abode in the infernal regions. 2. பூத னாசரீரம், a body capable of the sensual felicities of சுவர்க்கம், or the abode of Indra. 3. பரிணாமசரீரம், changeable bodies, the bodies of the present state, in which moral actions are performed. சரீரநோய், s. Pains in the body from over exertion, walking, cold, &c. சரீரபுஷ்டி, s. Corpulency. 2. A healthy, thriving state of the body. சரீரப்போக்கு--சரீரப்போங்கு, s. The state of the body; different states of constitution. சரீரமரணம், s. [in Christ. usage.] Death of the body, oppo. to ஆத்துமமரணம், spiritual death. சரீரவதை, s. Mortifying the body by austere penance. சரீரவாகு--சரீரவாக்கு, s. The temperament of the body. சரீரவுபாதி, s. Bodily pain. சரீரவுறவு, s. Consanguinity, oppo. to ஞானவுறவு. (p.) சரீராவச்சின்னவான்மா, s. The individuated soul as it exists in bodies respectively--as distinguished or detached from the universal spirit, சீவான்மா; [ex சரீரம், et அவச்சின்னம், separated.] (சது.) சரீரி, s. A sentient soul, a corporeal being--oppo. to அசரீரி, an immaterial existence. சுகசரீரம், s. A healthy constitution, in which the three humors are in equilibrium. தூலீத்தசரிரம், s. A fat or corpulent body. வச்சிரசரீரம், s. An adamantine body, (a form used in benedictions.) See வச்சிரம். 2. Strong and healthy body. கற்சரீரம், s. Stone-like body. See கல். 13) *

tākku (p. 232) s. Beating, percussion, concussion, dash, blow, a fight, clashing, dashing, twitching, impinging--as steam, or a blast of wind, &c., அடி. 2. A rest, prop, support, சார்வு. 3. Attack, assault, invasion, போர். 4. Preponderance, அதிபாரம். 5. Reaction, rebound, reflection, எதிர்தாக்குகை. 6. A rice field, நெல்வயல். 7. adj. (with person.) Corpulency, புஷ்டி. 8. Place, இ டம். 9. Vault, நிலவறை. 1. Application, சாதிப்பு. 11. Purchase of a lever, impetus, வேகம். 12. [in arith.] Multiplication, குணனம். 13. Affecting one's mind, உள்ளத்திற்றைக்கை. ஆள்தாக்கிலேதாழ்ச்சியில்லை. He is robust. தாக்காயிருக்க, inf. To have a grave look. 2. To be competent. தாக்கற்று, (adverbially.) Independently. தாக்காய்ச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak with authority. (Old Dic.) தாக்குப்பொறுத்தவன், appel. n. A robust person, able to carry a load, &c. 2. One with the charge of a large family. 3. One able to afford expenses. (c.) மேட்டுத்தாக்கு, s. A rising ground. பள்ளத்தாக்கு, s. A valley. 2. Low places in field, lands adjacent to tanks and easily flooded. (c.) 13)

tātu (p. 233) s. (Sa. Dha'tu.) A principle, constituent or elementary part in nature, பூதவணு. 2. (c.) Artery, nerve, pulse, muscle in common, நரம்பு. 3. Any of the seven constituent parts of the body, இரசமாதியேழு. 4. Any one of the five elements, மண்ணாதி யைந்து. 5. The filaments of a flower, பூந் தாது. 6. The தாதுமாதளை tree. (சது.) 7. Red ochre, காவிக்கல். 8. The root of a word in Sanscrit, சொற்பகுதி. 9. Any of the seven metals, பொன்னாதியேழு. (See உலோகம்.) 1. Mineral, a fossil, நிரசவஸ்து. 11. Semen, சுக்கிலம். 12. The tenth year of the Hindu cycle, ஓர்வருஷம். 13. Arsenic in its natural state, in distinction from that which is prepared. See சரக்கு.--Note. The seven constituents of the body, or சத்ததாது, are: 1. இரசம், serum. 2. இரததம், blood. 3. சுக்கி லம், semen. 2. மூளை. brains, marrow. 5. தசை, flesh. 6. எலும்பு, bone. 7. தோல், skin. தாதாட, inf. To dive into the pollen of flowers, as insects; [ex ஆட.] (p.) தாதுகட்ட, inf. To bind or cause absorption, or extinction of the seminal principle in the system, as ascetics; or to promote longevity. தாதுகலிக்க, inf. To be emitted as semen. தாதுநஷ்டம், s. Nocturnal pollution in sleep, by disease, &c. See ஸ்கலிதம். தாதுபார்க்க, inf. To feel the pulse. தாதுபுஷ்டி--தாதுவிருத்தி, s. A healthy state of the semen. (c.) தாதுமாதளை, s. A flowering pomegranate without fruit, பூமாதளை. தாதுமூலசீவன், s. [in divination.] A three fold division of nature, தாது denoting the mineral, மூலம், the vegetable and சீவன், the animal kingdoms, one of which is sent by an applicant to the diviner. தாதுரோகம், s. Scanty flow, or morbid state of the semen. தாதுவாதம், s. Mineralogy, one of the sixty-four கலைஞானம். தாதுவாதி, s. An assayer of metals. தாதுவிழுந்துபோதல், v. noun. Ceasing of the pulse.
