[prov.] A grave, கல்லறை. மண்கிணறு, s. An unwalled well, or hole for water, in the sand, கற்கட்டாத கிணறு. மண்குகை, s. A cave in the earth, நில வறை. 2. A hornet's or chafer's nest, குளவிக்கூடு. 3. A crucible for calcining medicines or metals, மண்மூசை. மண்குளிக்க, inf. To roll and besmear itself with dirt--as a child, beast or fowl. மண்கொழுத்தல், v. noun. Land becoming rich. மண்சீலை, s. [com. சீலைமண்.] A rag coated with luting tied over a pot for calcining medicines, or tied round medicines to be calcined. மண்டலம், s. The earth, world, பூமி; [ex தலம்.] 2. A province, region, district, country, empire, தேசம். compare மண்டலம், a circle, &c. மண்டைலம்--மண்தைலம், s. Rockoil, bitumen, petrolium; [ex தைலம்.] மண்ணப்புதல், v. noun. Besmearing with mud or clay; [ex அப்பு, v.] மண்ணரிநார், s. A potter's string for cutting clay. (சது.) மண்ணரியாளன்--மண்ணரிவான்--மட் பகைஞன்--மட்பகைவன், s. A potter, குசவன். (சது.) மண்ணரைத்தல், v. noun. [prov. vul.] Being lazy, lounging, சோம்பியிருத்தல். மண்ணவர்--மண்ணுள்ளார்--மண்ணோர், s. [pl.] Men, human beings, மனிதர். மண்ணன்--மண்ணி, s. [prov.] A clown, clod-hopper, dullard; a stupid man, மூடன், மந்தன். மண்ணாங்கட்டி--மண்கட்டி, s. A clod of earth. 2. [fig.] An unimportant thing, பயனற்றது. மண்ணாங் கட்டிமாப்பிளைக்கு எருமுட்டைபணியா ரம். For a clod-like bridegroom, a cake of dried dung. மண்ணாசை, s. Desire of land, power, &c. See ஆசை. மண்ணிட--மண்பூச, inf. To plaster with clay. மண்ணிலம்--மண்ணுலகு, s. The earth, பூமி. (சது.) மண்ணிலவேந்தன், s. The முடிதும்பை shrub. மண்ணீடு, s. A raised verandah, திண் ணை. 2. A cavity, or niche in a wall for a light, or an image, மாடம். (சது.) 3. A room with a plastered roof, மூடுசாந்திட்ட வீடு. மண்ணீட்டாளர், s. [pl.] Masons, architects, சிற்பாசாரியர். (சது.) மண்ணீரல், s. The spleen, milt, பிளி கை. மண்ணுடையான்--மண்ணுக்குடையவன், appel. n. A potter, குயவன். (சது.) 2. A king, அரசன். மண்ணுணி, appel. n. A small venomous snake, said to feed on earth; also மண்ணுணிப்பாம்பு. 2. [vul. மங்கிணி.] A mean, worthless person; (lit.) a dirteater, பயனில்லாதவன். மண்ணுலகு, s. The earth, பூமி--oppos. to விண்ணுலகு. (சது.) மண்ணுளிப்பாம்பு, s. A harmless kind of snake. மண்ணுள்ளார், appel. n. [pl.] Men. See மண்ணவர். மண்ணூற்று, s. A spring in an earthy soil. மண்ணெடுக்க, inf. To raise up earth, as rats and white ants. 2. To toss up earth--as cows, with their horns. 3. To lower a field by excavation. மண்ணேறிவிடுதல், v. noun. Becoming marred--as land by a flood of water running over it, and depositing sand. 2. Becoming foul, as water, by dirt washing into it. 3. Working of dirt into a sore. மண்ணொட்டர், s. [pl.] Well-diggers, &c. See ஒட்டர். மண்தாங்கி--மண்டாங்கி--மண்தாங்கிப் பலகை, s. A board which supports the wall over a door, window, &c. (Beschi.) மண்பவளம், s. An earthen-imitation of red coral, for necklaces and bracelets. மண்பார், s. [in well-digging.] A strata of hard earth under a rocky strata. மண்புளித்தல், v. noun. Fermenting, becoming well-seasoned or thick, as mortar mixed and pounded on the preceding day. 2. Land becoming soft, by continued rain. மண்பூச, inf. To plaster with clay. மண்பொதுத்தந்தை, s. Brahma--as creator, or evolver, of all worlds, பிரமன். மண்போட, inf. To put earth on one's mouth for his burial. 2. To cast earth into the air and curse one, as wishing his death. மண்மகள், s. The goddess earth, பூமி தேவி. மண்மகள்புதல்வர், s.
