To prosper, thrive, grow powerful, கைகூட. எடுத்தகாரியந்தலைக்கட்டிவந்தது. The thing was accomplished. தலைக்கட்டு, v. noun. The first of a range of buildings. 2. The head of a family. (c.) 3. Treating of subjects out of the usual order for some particular purpose, one of the தந்திரவுத்தி. தலைதடுமாற்றம், s. Confusion, derangement, disorder. தலைதட்ட, inf. Loftiness. eminence, superiority, distinction. 5. Holding the head erect. தலையெடுப்பாய்ப்பேசாதே. Don't be arrogant in your remarks. தலையெடுப்பானகோபுரம். A lofty tower. தலையெழுத்து, s. Destiny, fate, as supposed to be written in the head by Brahma, according to the actions of previous births, தலைவிதி. 2. Signature to a bond or instrument, inserted at the beginning. 3. The heading or title of a book. 4. The first or capital letter in a writing. தலையேறுதண்டம், s. [prov.] Punishment above what one is able to bear. 2. (fig.) Excessive trouble or labour; compulsory service, அநியாயதண்டம். தலையைக்கொடுக்க--தலைகொடுக்க, inf. To step forward in one's behalf, in a case of exigency. 2. To expose one's self to danger for another. தலையைச்சுற்றியெறிய, inf. To detest utterly; to reject with disgust, disdain and scorn. தலையைநடுக்க, inf. To feel dizziness, sickness, slight intoxication--as from betel, tobacco, spirits, &c. தலையோடு, s. The skull. தலைவணங்க, inf. To do homage. 2. To fall or bend down--as corn in the field. Preface is of two kinds. -- I. பொதுப்பாயிரம். a general preface, of which there are five particulars: நூற்றிறன், the properties and characteristics of classical writing; 2. நூவல்வோன்திறன், the character of the teacher, and his ability and aptitude to teach; 3. நுவலுந்திறன், the mode of teaching, system of imparting education; 4. கொள்வோன்றிறன், the qualifications of the student; 5. கோடற்றிறன், the method of pursuing his studies. A celebrated Jvalamukhi exists in Lahore, to which pilgrimages are made. The soil abounds with carburetted hydrogen, which takes fire on coming in con tact with the external air, especially if a light be applied. Vents are made; and a light being brought near the orifice, a flame is kindled, which is fed by the escaping stream of gas. A slight aversion, or half willingness, anger, விருப்பின்மை. முகச்செழிப்பம்--முகச்செழிப்பு, v. noun. Cheerfulness of countenance. முகஞ்சின்னம்போதல், v. noun. Being put out of countenance, or made ashamed, வெட்கப்படுதல். முகஞ்சுண்டுதல். Looking sullen. முகத்தைச்சுண்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான். He has contracted his face; looks sullen. முகஞ்சுளித்தல், v. noun. The first end of a cloth, that which was fastened to the weaver's beam--oppos. to சவதலை. 2. (R.) Confrontation. முகதலை, க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To confront, to face. எங்களைமுகதலைத்துவிடும். Bring us face to face. முகதலைப்பு, v. noun. Confrontation, as முகதலை, 2. முகத்தழகு--முகவெட்டு, s. Beauty of countenance, comeliness, perfection. முகதாட்சிணியம்--முகதாட்சிணை--முக தாக்ஷிணை, s. [vul. முகத்தாச்சிணை.] Respect of persons, complaisance, as முகமாட்டம். முகத்தாராளம்--முகபூரணம், s. Cheerfulness, as முகச்செழிப்பு. முகத்தாலடிக்க, inf. To repulse by the countenance. முகத்திரியக்குநாடி, s. [in anat.] Transverse facial artery. முகத்திலரும்ப--முகத்திலரும்பிறங்க-முகத்திலரும்புபுறப்பட, inf. [com. முகத்திலருப்ப மிறங்க, அருப்பம்புறப்பட, sometimes முகத்தில்கரி க்கோடிட.] To sprout as the hair on the upper lip of a young man. முகத்திலிரத்தந்தெறிக்கப்பேசுகிறது. Flattery, (lit.) praise to the face. முகத்துவாரம், s. [loc.] The mouth of a frith, or arm of the sea, கழிமுகம். முகத்தெளிவு, v. noun. Placidity or serenity of countenance. 2. A symptom of death. To be possible, capable, கூட. நான்சாப்பிட்டுமுடிந்தது. I have done eating. ஆராதனைமுடிந்தது. The service was over. (Chris. usage.) அதுஉன்னாலேமுடியுமா. Can it be accomplished by you? நான்வரமுடியாது. I cannot come. வேலைஎப்போதுமுடியும். When will the work be finished? அவன்காரியமுடிந்தது. His case is settled, [fig.] he is dead. அதுமுடியாது. It won't do. 2. It is impossible. அதைமுடியப்பார். See முற்றமுடிய. முடியல், s. All, the whole, எல்லாம். (சது.) முடியாமை, neg. v. noun. Endlessness, முற்றாமை. 2. Impossibility, incapability, கூடாமை. முடிச்சு, v. noun. A knot, a tie; something tied in a bundle. கொடுமுடிச்சு--படுமுடிச்சு, s. A hard intricate knot. See கொடுமை. முடிச்சுமுடிச்சாயிருக்கிறது. It is full of knots. முடிச்சுப்போனது மல்லாமல் இளிச்சவாய்ப்பட்ட முங்கூடக்கிடைத்தது. He has lost his money, and is left to grin. முடிச்சவிழ--முடிச்சுக்குலைய, inf. To become loose, or untied, as a knot, or as hair hanging behind and knotted. முடிச்சவிழ்க்க, inf. To untie a knot. முடிச்சவிழ்க்கி--முடிச்சுமாறி, appel. n. A pick-pocket. திருட்டுப்பையன்கலியாணத்தில்முடிச்சவிழ்க்கிபெ ரியதனம்பண்ணல். In the marriage of a thief, the pick-pocket is the conductor. முடிப்பு, v. noun. A tie, as முடிச்சு. 2. Money wrapt up in a cloth. See கிழி. 3. (p.) End, conclusion, result, completion, &c., as முடிவு. முடிப்புச்செலுத்த, inf. To pay money on a debt, பணங்கட்ட. முடிப்புச்சொல்ல, inf. To conclude a discourse. 2. As முடிவுசொல்ல. முடிப்புரி, s. [improp. முடிப்பிரி.] A receiver of rents, taxes, &c., a shroff, ச ராப்புக்காரன். முடிவு, v. noun. [in gram. முடிபு.] End, termination, close, completion, issue, result, expiration, conclusion, கடை. (சது.) 2. Death, destruction, மரணம். முடிவென்னசொல்லுகிறீர். What do you say of the result? முடிவறிய, inf. To know the result, or end, of a matter, as துறைபோக. முடிவிடம், s. The end, or termination, of a subject or sentence. முடிவிடங்கூறல், v. noun. Giving notice where a point in a discussion terminates. See உத்தி. முடிவிலேபார்க்க, inf. To view abstractly, to consider generically; not to take into consideration individual or particular instances, or determine from immediate causes, but to look to the prime cause, முடிவாய்யோசிக்க. பாரதிதனிலுள்ள செயலெலாமுடிவிலே பார்க்கினி ன்செயலல்லவோ.
