[in gram.] A consonant, மெய்யெழுத்து. மெய்நின்றுவிழிக்கிறதுபொய்கொண்டுபொரிகிறது.... Truth is quiet, lie is blustering. [prov.] மெய்பொய்விசாரியுங்கள். Find out its truth or falsity. மெய்கண்டதேவர், s. A poet well skilled in Hindu metaphysics; also called, சுவேதவனப்பெருமாள். மெய்காட்டல், v. noun. Exhibiting strength, (lit.) showing the body. (p.) மெய்கூறல்--மெய்சொல்லல், v. noun. Speaking the truth. மெய்க்காப்பாளர், s. [also கஞ்சுகர்.] Body-guards, மெய்க்காவலர். மெய்க்கவசம்--மெய்யுறை, s. A coat of armor, a vestment. மெய்க்கிளை, s. [prov.] Genuine sprouts in jack-trees, &c., as distinguished from பொய்க்கிளை. See கிளை. மெய்க்கீர்த்திமாலை, s. A panegyric poem in the கட்டுரை versification, describing the illustrious descent, and famous actions of a hero. See பிரபந்தம். மெய்க்கொள்ள, inf. [com. மெய்யென்று கொள்ள.] To believe, take to be true. மெய்க்கோள், s. Earnest-money. (R.) மெய்க்கோளாய்வாங்கினேன். I got money in advance. மெய்ஞ்ஞானம்-மெஞ்ஞானநிட்டை, s. True wisdom, the state of the most exalted ascetic. மெய்ஞ்ஞானி, s. The true sage. மெய்நலம், s. [sometimes மெய்ந்நலம்.] Strength, வலி. (சது.) மெய்ந்நூல், s. [com. மின்னூல்.] Ancient writings, commonly divine. மெய்நூலன், s. An epithet of Dronacharya, துரோணாசாரியன். (சது.) மெய்புகுகருவி, s. A vestment, as மெ ய்க்கவசம். (p.) மெய்ப்படாம்,s. A mantle or cloak, covering the whole body, நிலையங்கி; [ex படாம், a cloth.] (p.) மெய்ப்படுத்த, inf. [intrans. மெய்ப் பட.] To prove substantial. மெய்ப்பரிசம், 8. Eight sensations of the body; 1. ஊன்றல், from placing; 2. கட்டல், binding; 3. குத்தல், stabbing; 4. தடவல், stroking; 5. தட்டல், patting; 6. தீண்டல், touching; 7. பற்றல், seizing; 8. வெட்டல், cutting--also called, அஷ்டமெய் ப்பரிசம். மெய்ப்பாடு, v. noun. Indication of passion or sentiment, by gesture, or any other signs--as tears for sorrow, the erection of the hairs of the body from love, joy, transport. 2. Experience of truth. மெய்ப்பை, s. A tight garment fitted to the body, சட்டை. (சது.) மெய்ப்பொருள், s. Sound doctrine. 2. The truth, an epithet of God, கடவுள். 3. Knowledge, அறிவு. Compare கைப்பொ ருள். மெய்ப்பொறி, s. The body as the organ of touch. மெய்மதம், s. True religion. மெய்மயக்கம், s. [in gram.] Consonants occurring together in a word, as ண் and ட in கண்டம்; க்க, in பக்கம். See மயக்கம். மெய்மலம்--மெய்மாசு, s. Human dung, நரகல். 2. As மேலழுக்கு. (p.) மெய்மறதி--மெய்மறத்தல், v. noun. Swooning, losing one's senses by delirium, becoming unconscious. (c.) நான்மெய்மறந்துபோனேன். I had quite forgotten [to bring, &c.] மெய்மெய்யாய், Very truly, evidently, in the very act. மெய்மை, s. A truth, fact. 2. Thought, intention, நினைவு. மெய்மைகூறல், v. noun.
