iyai (p. 48) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. n. [The mere poetic form for இசை.] To join, unite, agree, be proper for, agreeable to &c., பொருந்த. இயைய, inf. Used also as a term of comparison, உவமையுருபு. இயைபு, v. noun. Union, agreement, இசைவு. 2. Fitness, worthiness, &c., for undertaking the study of religion or of a literary work, பொருத்தம். 3. [in poetry.] Constructing verses in such a way that they shall end in any of the consonants, ஞ், ண், ந், ம், ன், ய், ர், ல், வ், ழ், ள்.--One of the வனப்பு, or beauties of comparison, செய்யுள்வனப்பினொன்று. 4. The rhyming of the last feet or letters in the lines, அடிகளினிறுதிாயெழுத்தேனுஞ்சொ ல்லேனுமொத்துவருவது. See தொடை. (p.) இயைபின்மையணி, s. A figure in rhetoric--comparing a thing to itself-as பொதுநீங்குவமை. இயைபுவண்ணம், s. Poetry in which the medial letters abound, ஓர்வண் ணம். இயைபுளன், s. A worthy person, புகழாளன். இயைவு, v. noun. ottukkoḷḷ (p. 81) inf. To assent, admit, accede to, allow, grant, concede, yield, acknowledge, சம்மதிக்க. 2. To fit, to be suitable, be convenient, comport with, தகுதியாக. 3. To take to account, credit, கணக்கிலேற்றுக்கொள்ள. காலமுநேரமுமொத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை. The time and the season are not propitious according to the nativity which prognosticates evil, &c. 2. It is not a convenient time. இருவருமொத்துக்கொண்டுபொய்ச்சாட்சிசொன் னார்கள். They both gave false depositions by previous agreement. 16)
