To swell as the glands or kernels of the neck, arm pits, &c.; sometimes நெறியிட. (c.) குட்டிச்சுவருக்குதேள்கொட்டக்கட்டுத்தறிக்கு நெறிகட்டுமா. If a scorpion stings a wall, will there be a swelling on the cow-post? i. e. irrelevant causes sould not be alleged. நெறிகுலைக்க, inf. To vitiate one's morals, &c. See குலை, v. நெறிகெட்டவன்--நெறிகேடன்--நெறி யில்லாதவன். appel. n. An unjust or immoral man. 2. One regardless of religious ceremonies, &c., நெறிகேடு, v. noun. Injustice, immorality. நெறிக்கோரை, s. A kind of grass, ஓர் கோரை. See நெறிநெட்டிக்கோரை. நெறிதப்ப--நெறிதவற, inf. To deviate from propriety, equity, or religious rule. நெறிநிற்க, inf. To adhere to the path of virtue or religion. (p.) நெறிநின்றார்நீடுவாழ்வார். The upright will prosper. (குறள்.) நெறிப்பட, inf. To be but in order. 2. To be established in a good, moral, or religious course. நெறிப்படி, adv. In order, according to method, custom, rule. நெறிப்படுத்த, inf. To put in order, &c., as the active of நெறிப்பட. நெறிமான், s. As நெறியுள்ளவன். (R.) நெறிமுறைமை, s. Rules of propriety, rectitude, equity. நெறியிலார், s. [pl.] The vulgar, the mean, the base, the lawless, கீழோர். நெறியுள்ளவன், appel. n. A man of integrity, a just man. 12)
