இசி
ici (p. 45) க்கிறேன், த்தேன, ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To strip or pull off as leaves, bark, &c., to sliver, இணுங்க. (சது.) 2. To break off, ஒடிக்க. 3. v. n. To laugh, சிரிக்க. (சது.) 4. [vul.] To contract as the muscle by spasms, நரம்பிழுக்க. இசி, v. noun. Stripping, pulling off--as bark, leaves, fibres, &c., breaking off--as a branch. இணுங்குகை. 2. உழற்று
uẕṟṟu (p. 67) கிறேன், உழற்றினேன், வே ன், உழற்ற, v. a. To twist, whirl any thing about, சுழற்ற. 2. To move about the arms, or legs through pain, கைகாலுழற்ற. 3. [prov.] To pass time tediously, to get through an irksome duty, காலத்தைவருத்தத் தோடுகழிக்க. 4. v. n. To writhe through pain, வருந்திப்புரள. உழற்றிக்கழிக்க, inf. To pass in endurance. பூண்டவேலையையொருபடியுழற்றிக்கழித்துக்கொண் டேன். I have accomplished the unpleasant business in which I was engaged. சமுசாரத்தையுழற்றிக்கழிக்க. To sustain with reluctance the cares, duties, &c. of a family. உழற்றி, v. noun. Rolling, twisting, writhing with pain, distortion, சுழலுகை. 2. Great thirst, மிகுதாகம். கையுழற்றி, s. Spasms in the arms, contractions, waving, &c. காலுழற்றி, s. Spasms in the leg, waving, &c. நாவுழற்றி, s. Thirst. நாவுழற்றியெடுக்க, inf. To suffer great thirst. 18)
குன்மம்
kuṉmam (p. 132) s. A disease, a chronic enlargement of the spleen; also, any glandular enlargement in the abdomen--as of the mesenteric gland, &c., causing indigestion, colic and great emaciation. There are eight kinds, viz: எரிகுன்மம், சத்திகுன்மம், சன்னிகுன் மம், சிலேட்டுமகுன்மம், குலைக்குன்மம், பித்தகுன்மம், வலிகுன்மம், வாதகுன்மம், which see severally. 2. A division of an army. (See குலுமம்.) 3. Bushes; thickets, தூறு. Wils. p. 294. GULMA. குன்மக்கட்டி, s. A formation or enlargement in the abdomen. அவனுக்குக்குன்மங்கண்டிருக்கிறது. He has the குன்மம் disease. குன்மசூலை, s. Nervous paralysis--also obstruction of the viscera. (Rott.) குன்மப்புரட்டு, s. [prov.] Dyspepsia; an acute pain, attending the குன்மம் disease from indigestion, causing vomiting, distortions, &c. குன்மவலி, s. Internal pain or gripe consequent on the குன்மம் disease. குன்மவாயு, s. Flatulency connected with the குன்மம் disease. 68)
கோரணி
kōrṇi (p. 151) s. Epilepsy, ஓர்வியாதி. 2 Grimace, distortion of the countenance-as in pain, முகங்கோட்டுகை. (R.) 3. Gestures, gesticulation, mockery by gesture, fun, கைகால்வளைக்கை. 4. Fancifulness, fickleness, ஆசியம். (c.) 6. [prov.] Captious complaint, சோலி. கைக்கோரணி, s. Motions, or signs with the hands--as of a dumb person, or a dying person, &c. See கை. கோரணிகாட்ட, inf. To make gestures, to gesticulate. 2. To be droll, to make sport. 3. To exhibit amusing curiosities. கோரணிக்காரன், s. A buffon, a jester. 2. A captious troublesome person. 6)
சன்னி
caṉṉi (p. 173) s. Affection of the brain, apoplexy, paralysis, convulsions, delirium from fever, &c., சீதநோய்; [perhaps from the Sa. Sanipata, with its suffix apocopated.] --Note. In medical works, thirteen kinds of சன்னி are described. viz.: 1. கண்டகுப் சம், nervous affections of the throat, sore throat; [ex குப்சம், crookedness.] 2. சந்தி கம், (Union.) a disease arising from improper sexual intercourse. It is of two kinds. சுகசன்னி, of a man after bathing with the use of oil for anointing, and சூத கசன்னி, of a female during menstruation. 3. தாந்திரிகம், nervous debility. 4. பகீகனநேத்தி ரகம், affection of the nerves of the eye, blindness. 5. ருக்தாகம், pains of the body attended with thirst. 6. சிஃவீகம், nervous affection of the tongue, dumbness. 7. பிர லாபம், falling sickness, epilepsy. 8. அந்த கம், convulsion preceeding death. 9. ரக்த ஷடீவி, mucus mingled with blood from the nose. 1. சித்தவிப்பிரமம், fainting fits, syncope. 11. சீதகாத்திரகம் or சீதாங்கம், congestion of blood attended with spasms and profuse perspiration; spasmodic cholera. 12. கர்நீகம், nervous deafness. 13. அபின்னி யாசம், convulsion, distortions. சன்னிகுன்மம், s. Convulsive fits. (R.) சன்னிக்கட்டி, s. [prov.] A tumor near or in the ear, காதுவீக்கம். சன்னிக்குணம், s. The stage of a disease bordering upon that of coma, apoplexy, &c., 2. Symptoms, indications, &c., of coma, &c. (c.) சன்னிநரம்பு, s. Nerves of the great toe, which being injured are sometimes inflamed so as to produce lock-jaw. சன்னிநாயகம், s. A plant--black cumin, கருஞ்சீரகம். See சீரகம். 2. A medicinal plant, தும்பைப்பூண்டு. Phlomis Indic. L. சன்னிநாயன்--சன்னிகணாயன், s. (lit. god of fits.) As சன்னிநாயகம், 2. சன்னிபாதம், s. A morbid state of the three humors of the body resulting in paralysis, convulsions, &c.--as சன்னி. W. p. 891. SANNIPATA. சன்னிபாதசுரம், s. (also சன்னிவாதசுர ம்.) Convulsions accompanied with fever. சன்னிபிறக்குதல், v. noun. The inducing of coma. c. அலறுசன்னி, s. Convulsions accompanied with laughter, hysterics--as கம் பீரசன்னி. இரணசன்னி--புறவீச்சுச்சன்னி, s. External convulsions. இசிவுசன்னி, s. Lock-jaw. see underஇசி. v. உள்வீச்சுச்சன்னி, s. Internal convulsions; oppo. to புறவீச்சுச்சன்னி. மாந்தசன்னி, s. convulsions from indigestion, commonly in children. முகவாதசன்னி, s. Paralysis causing the distortion of the face. மூடுசன்னி, s. Apoplexy with an utter suspension of the active powers. 88) *
சழி
cẕi (p. 173) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To be pressed out of form; to be distorted, twisted, sunk, crushed down on one side, கீழேய மர்ந்துபிரிய. 2. To become crumpled, wrinkled, decayed by age--as things, தளர. (c.) தேகஞ்சழிந்துபோயிற்று. The body is become crumpled. சழிவு, v. noun. Being crushed down on one side, distortion, crumple. சழிவுநெளிவு, s. Crookedness and distortion. (c.) 17)

cuẕi (p. 198) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க,v. a. To curl, incurve, curve the end of a letter--as ே, &c., சுழியச்செய்ய, 2. To form whirlpools, eddies, &c., as water, நீர்முதலி யனசுழிக்க. 3. To curtail expenses, provide one's self with the strictest economy, செ லவுசுருக்க. 4. To conceal, to hide one's self, மறைக்க, (c.) உள்ளதைக் கொண்டுதான் சுழிக்கவேணும். we ought to provide for our expenses according to our income. எங்கேயோசுழித்துப்போட்டான். piṉṉam (p. 320) s. A break, tear, rent, severance, cut, சிதைவு. 2. Division, detachment, separation. dismemberment, பிரிவு. (See சின்னாபின்னம்.) 3. Unnatural distortion of a limb, disfiguration, deformity, உறுப்புக்குலைவு. 4. [in arthm.] A fraction, கீழ் வாயிலக்கம். W. p. 62 B'HINNA. 5. Change for the worse, degeneracy, deterioration, வேற்றுமை. 6. Frustration, disappointment, மோசம்போகுகை. 7. Rupture, disunion, difference, variance, break, பிணக்கு. 8. Misbehaviour, failure, slip, deviation or severing in a line of duty, முறைகேடு. 9. Perversion, opposition, disagreement. முர ண். (See வின்னம்.) 1. (சது.) Dust, powder as the pollen of flowers, பராகம். பின்னகுணனம், s. [in arithmetic.] Multiplication of fractions, கீழ்வாயிலக்கப்பெ ருக்கு. பின்னசங்கலனம்--பின்னசங்கலிதம், s. [in arithmetic.] addition of fractions, கீழ்வாயிலக்கங்களைக்கூட்டுகை. பின்னபாகாரம், s. [in arith.] Division of fractions, கீழ்வாய்ப்பிரிப்பு. பின்னபேதகம்--பின்னபேதம், s. Failure in performance of a promise, நிறைவேற் றாமை. 2. Difference, disagreement, disharmony, விரோதம். பின்னப்படுதல், v. noun. Being distorted, dismembered, deformed. 2. Being frustrated, disappointed. பின்னப்படுத்துதல், v. noun. Severing, dismembering. 2. Distorting, altering the natural position of any member of the body. 3. pūcci (p. 329) s. An insect, beetle, worm or any small reptile, சிறுசெந்து. 2. [in combin.] Covering, &c. See கண்ணாம்பூச்சி. (c.) 3. (Tel.) A ghost. பூச்சிகாட்ட, inf. [with the dative.] To frighten children by distortion, grimace. 2. To frighten. பூச்சிக்கடி, s. Ringworm, herpes, &c. பூச்சிக்கூடு, s. A kind of jewel worn by women, காதணியிலொன்று. 2. A cage for insects. பூச்சிபிடிக்க, inf. To breed worms. பூச்சிபூச்சியெனல், v. noun. Crying பூச்சி, or feigning illness beyond the reality. பூச்சியரிக்க, inf. To gnaw as worms and ulcers. பூச்சியாண்டி, s. See பூச்சாண்டி. 27) *

mkkḷi (p. 338) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. a. To revoke, retract, மாற்ற. 2. v. n. [vul.] To return--as disease, ஒழிந்தநோய்திரும்ப. 3. To be dislocated--as a joint, கணுப்பிசக. 4.
