kumpakaṉṉaṉ (p. 123) --கும்பகர்ணன், s. The gigantic brother of Rávan'a, whose ears were like a jar. He is said to have performed austerities to obtain immortality, நித்தியத்துவம்; but, under the evil influence of the supernals, who dreaded his power, he was made to falter in his words and to say, நித்திராத்துவம் (sleepiness), and he was thenceforward given up to sleep. Last night my sleep was disturbed. அவனுக்கிப்பொழுதுதான்தூக்கந்தெளிந்தது. He has just awaked from sleep. தூக்கக்கலக்கம்--தூக்கமயக்கம், s. Sleepiness. (c.) தூக்கங்கொள்ள, inf. To give opportunity to sleep--as a disease in time of convalescence. 2. To faint or become dull --as a person in the height of disease. காற்றுத்தூக்கங்கொள்ளுகின்றது. The wind is dying away. தூக்கம்பிடிக்க, inf. To be drowsy, to be afflicted with sleepiness. தூக்கம்விட, inf. To put up hangings, curtains, festoons, &c., to make ornamental hanging work in metal, masonry, carving, &c., 2. To rouse from sleep, swooning, &c., to revive. 7)

tūkku (p. 252) கிறேன், தூக்கினேன், வேன், தூக்க, v. a. To lift, lift up, raise, take up, hold up, உயர்த்த. 2. To weigh, to balance, நிறுக்க. 3. To hang, as a criminal, to suspend any substance, தூக்கிலேபோட. 4. To hoist a flag, suspend hangings, jewels, &c., to hoist sail, ஏற்ற. 5. To lift one up, help one up, as from a pit, &c., எடுத்துவிட.
