உதை
utai (p. 60) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To kick, காலாலுதைக்க. 2. To discharge, (arrows, &c.), பிரயோகிக்க. 3. To reject advice, அலட்சியம்பண்ண. 4. v. n. To receive a counter impulse as a missile, weapon, or ball, to resile, தாக்க. இளவல்கார்முகமுதைக்கும்வாளிழை. The shower of arrows which the younger brother (of Vigneswera) discharged from his bow. [prov.] To push and give impulse to a swing, ஊஞ்சலுதைக்க. உதைகொடுத்துக்கொண்டுநிற்க. To stand with the foot raised and supported on something. 2. (fig.) To resist advice, to be refractory. உதைசுவர், s. A buttress, முட்டுச் சுவர். உதைமானம், s. A prop, a support --as உதைகால். உதையுண்ண, inf. To be kicked. உதையுண்ணி, s. ஏங்கு
ēngku (p. 78) கிறேன், ஏங்கினேன், வேன், ஏங்க. v. n. To weep, cry, wail; to call as a peacock, அழ. 2. To faint through fear, sorrow, &c., வாட. 3. To fear, dread, be aghast, be panic-struck, be startled, be at one's wit's end, be shocked, திகிலுற. 4. To be concerned, to regret deeply, to be in great suspense, கவலைப்பட. 5. (இராமா.) To sound, roar, ஒலிக்க. ஏங்கித்திரியேல். Do not yield to anguish and sorrow. (ஆத்தி.) ஏங்கினாற்போலேசீவன்போயிற்று. He was so overcome with fear (grief, &c.) that he instantly died. ஏங்கிப்போக, inf. To faint through fear, to be in deep concern, to be grieved for, to be exceedingly anxious. ஏக்கம்--ஏக்கரவு, v. noun. Sudden fear, fright, trepidation, alarm, consternation, stupor, panic, ஏங்குகை. 2. Anxiety, deep concern, கவலை. 3. Despondency, despair, ஆறாக்கவலை. ஏக்கம். With a verb--as பிடிக்க, and dative of person, &c., signifies to languish, despond, &c. ஏக்கமெடுக்க--ஏக்கம்பிடிக்க, inf. To have excessive sorrow, to be vexed. மகன்செத்ததினாலேயவளுக்கேக்கம்பிடித்்தது..... She languishes at the death of her son. ஏங்கல், v. noun. Screaming--as a peacock, மயிற்குரல். 2. Weeping. 3. kulai (p. 127) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To become loose--as a knot, a tie, &c.; to be put out of place or form; to be dishevelled, untwisted, unravelled, கட்டவிழ. 2. To disperse--as a company, a flock, &c., to scatter, கலைய. 3. To be relaxed--as the mind from duty, austerities, &c.; to be diverted from its purpose or object, தளர. 4. To fall from chastity, to be violated, கற்பழிய. 5. To be disorganized, deranged, disordered; to suffer dissolution, சீர்குலைய. 6. To shew signs of anger, சினக்குறிப்புக்காட்ட. 1. To be effaced, blotted out, cancelled, அழிந்துபோக. கொண்டைகுலைந்துபோயிற்று. The hair knot has become loosened, or untied. கட்டுக்குலைந்தது. The tie has become loosened. 2. The laws, customs or usages are abolished, or have fallen into desuetude. கூட்டங்குலைந்தது. The assembly has broken up; the family is scattered. சந்தைகுலைந்தது. The market people are dispersed. கோலமிட்டது குலைந்துபோய்விட்டது. The figures painted on the floor have been effaced. அடுக்குக்குலைய, inf. To be put into disorder--as a row or pile of things. 2. To become deranged--as one's business or circumstances. நியமங்குலைய, inf. To be diverted from a vow or some religious observance. நிலைகுலைய, inf. To fail in one's standing; to be ruined in one's circumstances. 2. To be discouraged; to lose self-command. 3. To be disconcerted, perplexed. 4. To be routed--as an army. 5. To swerve from duty. 6. To be fascinated. முனைகுலைய, inf. To be dispirited, discouraged--as a warrior; to be defeated --as an army. மானங்குலைய, inf. To be disgraced. 2. To be deflowered, to be ravished. மகிமைகுலைய, inf. To lose one's dignity, credit or honor. உருக்குலைய, inf. To be disfigured, to be worn out--as things by use or time. 2. To be emaciated. 3. To be putrefied --as a corpse. வேஷங்குலைய, inf. To be unmasked. 2. To lose one's reputation and character. மேனிகுலைய, inf. To be deformed. 2. To be disordered--as the hair, attire, &c. 3. To be in perturbation, or agitation. 4. To lose freshness, beauty, &c.; to wither--as the body. குலைகுலைய, inf. To tremble, to be in a state of trepidation, to be greatly troubled--as at sad news; to be agitated in mind and body, நடுநடுங்க. குலைவு, v. noun. Loosening, relaxing, கட்டுக்குலைவு. 2. Derangement, disorder, confusion, discomposure, dissolution, தா றுமாறு. 3. Violation, ruin, அழிவு. 4. Disperison, கலைவு. கூற்றையார்குலைவுறார். Who would not tremble at the sight of Yama! குலைவுபட, inf. To be disordered, disorganized, confused. 2. To be untwisted, untied, unfastened. குலைவுபண்ண, inf. v. a. தத்தளி
tttḷi (p. 223) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To struggle for life or breath, as one drowning; to be in consternation or trepidation; to be in a dilemma, at one's wit's end; to be greatly agitated--as one exposed to fire, wild beasts, &c., திடுக்கிட. 2. To be in great straits, as persons in time of drought, famine, or of an epidemic, வருந்த. 3. To vacillate, hesitate, தடுமாற. (c.) தத்தளிப்பு, v. noun. நடுங்கு
nṭungku (p. 268) கிறேன், நடுங்கினேன், வேன், நடுக்க, v. a. To shake, tremble, shudder, shiver, quiver; to quake as the earth, அசைய. 2. To tremble through fear, to be agitated, பற்ற. (c.) நடுங்கநாட்டம், s. [in love poetry.] Inquiries put by the female companion to the young lady, so as to cause her to fear, அகப்பொருட்கிளவியினொன்று. (p.) நடுங்கலன், s. [prov. fem. நடுங்கலி.] A palsied man, one who shakes through palsy, நடுக்கல்வாதக்காரன். நடுக்கம், v. noun. Trembling, shaking, quaking, shivering, tremulousness, agitation, trepidation, கிறுகிறுப்பு. 2. (fig.) Great fear, அச்சம். (c.) அவனுக்குஎன்பேரைக்கேட்டால்நடுக்கம். If he hears my name, he trembles. நடுக்கங்கொள்ள--நடுக்கமடைய, inf. To tremble through fear. நடுங்கல், v. noun. Trembling, &c., as the verb. 24)

ptṟu (p. 294) கிறேன், றினேன், வேன், பதற, v. n. To be flurried, confused, precipitate, பதை பதைக்க. 2. To be agitated by the sufferings of a near relative; to agonize, தவிக்க. 3. To be paralyzed by fear, திடுக்கிட. 4. To be impatient, eager, over-anxious, அங்கலாய்க்க. (c.) பதறாதகாரியம்சிதறாது. A thing done deliberately will not miscarry. பணத்தைக்கைபதறவிடான். He will not let the money go from his hand. பதறிப்போக, inf. To be agitated through fear and disabled in hand or foot. பதறிவிழ, inf. To be in great agitation. கால்கைபதற, inf. To be paralyzed in the limbs of hands. 2. To be in trepidation affecting the feet or hands. in view of some dangerous or wicked act. வாய்பதற, inf. To be impatient to speak. 2. To speak rashly or inconsiderately. பதற்றம், v. noun. [com. பதட்டம்.] Precipitation, being in trepidation. 5)
