kṭṭu (p. 88) கிறேன், கட்டினேன், வேன், கட்ட, v. a. To tie, bind, gird, confine, link, chain, hamper, trammel, shackle, pinion, fasten, brace, pack, put on clothes, to wear, பிணிக்க. 2. To build, construct, frame, erect, fix, arrange, வீடுமுதலியகட்ட. 3. To hug, embrace, தழுவ. 4. To marry, விவாகஞ் செய்ய. 5. To bind by spells, magic, &c., to conjure, தடைகட்ட. 6. To fabricate, contrive, invent, கதைகட்ட. 7. To harden, condense, consolidate mercury, vermilion, &c., by the admixture of certain ingredients, சரக்குக்கட்ட. 8. To subordinate, subdue, subject, அடக்க. 9. To suborn, to bribe, பரிதானத்தாற்கட்ட. 1. v. n. [with the impersonal terminations.] To harden, consolidate, form as concretions, to concrete, clot, congeal, இறுக. 11. To become bound or confined, constricted--as the throat; to overspread as clouds, to collect, மூட. 12. To form as a boil, tumor, &c., to imposthumate, to gather, கட்டிதிரள. அடிபட்டஇடத்திலேயிரத்தங்கட்டியிருக்கிறது.... The blood is clotted in the part which is bruised. இப்படியிட்டேற்றம்பேசினாலுனக்குத்தொண்டையி லேகட்டும். If you persist in thus traducing me, you will have a boil in your throat; i. e. you will be seriously distressed--a curse. கட்டாக்காலி, s. An ox or cow suffered to run wild, or not folded by night. கட்டாணி, s. a fastening for a female ear-ring, கடைப்பூட்டாணி. கட்டிக்காக்க, inf. To preserve, guard, to protect. கட்டிக்கொடுக்க, inf. To give a daughter in marriage. 2. To make, build, construct, &c., and give one. கட்டிக்கொள்ள, inf. To take in marriage. 2. To hug, to embrace. 3. To contract, to lay up, to accumulate as moral deeds, virtue or vice, for future retribution. 4. To secure as an object, to turn a thing or person to one's own account, to conciliate favor, to bring within one's own power or influence. 5. To suborn, to bribe. 6. To make up a difference, a quarrel, &c., to become reconciled, to settle amicably, to compromise. தேசத்தைக்கட்டிக்கொள்ள. To conquer a country. புண்ணியத்தைக்கட்டிக்கொள்ள. To do a good action. பாவத்தைக்கட்டிக்கொள்ள. To contract guilt, to commit a sin. மாங்காய்ப்புளிதொண்டையைக்கட்டிக்கொண்ட து. The acid of the mango has caused a constriction in my throat. என்னபலனைக்கட்டிக்கொண்டாய். What hast thou obtained? கட்டிப்பிடிக்க, inf. To throw the arms round a person, to hug, to embrace, to grasp, to seize. கட்டிப்புகுந்தவள், s. A widow that has married again. கட்டியடிக்க, inf. To tie and flog, whip, &c., கட்டுகரை, s. A mole, a pier to defend shipping in a harbor. கட்டுசரக்கு, s. Mercury, &c., consolidated. கட்டுத்தாலிகட்ட, inf. To marry a widow. 2. To take a woman to wife-this may be done, if the man has no child by his first wife, with her consent, who acknowledges its validity by tying the marriage symbol round the neck of the new bride. தன்னைக்கட்ட, inf. To protect one's self by the use of magical incantations. 2. To have sufficient for one's support. 3. To be economical, frugal, to live within one's income. கவிகட்ட, inf. To compose a verse. கட்டு, v. noun. Binding, bonds, linking, connecting, கட்டுகை. 2. Hardening, consolidating, &c. இலிங்கக்கட்டு, s. Consolidated vermilion. தாளக்கட்டு--அரிதாரக்கட்டு, s. kaṉmam (p. 102) s. Moral actions, especially in their effects--as the cause of transmigrations and their accompanying joys and sorrows, pleasure and pains, intelligence or stupidity, &c., சஞ்சிதகன்மம். 2. Actions, செய்தொழில். 3. Evil actions, evil, vice, தீவினை. (See கருமம்.) 4. Fate, destiny, the fruits, retributions, &c., of actions in former births, பிராரத்தகன்மம். Wils. p. 198. KARMMAN. In the Agamas, actions and their effects are of three classes, viz: 1. ஆகாமியம், moral actions, good and evil of the present life, considered as the source of future births with their suffering and enjoyment. 2. சஞ்சிதம், the accumulated actions of the soul in former births, the retributions of which are to be experienced in future transmigrations. 3. பிராரத்தம் or பிராரத்துவம், the enjoyment and sufferings apportioned to the soul in the present state --as the retributions of actions in former births. அவனைக்கொல்லாதேகன்மம்பிடிக்கும். Do not kill him, if you do, the action will seize you. கன்மங்கட்டுப்பட, inf. See கருமங் கட்டுப்பட. கன்மகாண்டம், s. A medical book treating of diseases, as caused by the sins of former births, and the means necessary to remove them, so that medicines may prove effectual, ஓர்வைத்தியநூல். கன்மசண்டாளன், s. See கரும சண்டாளன். கன்மசாந்தி, s. A ceremony for the expiation of the evil of former deeds, கருமநிவர்த்தி. கன்மஞ்செய்தகுடி, s. A family guilty of wicked actions in former births, now made manifest by their sufferings. கன்மத்தியாகம், s. Expiation of the evil of a former birth. கன்மத்துரோகி, s. A wicked wretch, a criminal, சண்டாளன். கன்மநிவர்த்தி--கன்மநிவாரணம், s. See கருமநிவர்த்தி. கன்மந்தொலைய, inf. To become extinct, to be worked or eaten out and terminated--as former evil deeds. கன்மபந்தம், s. [as கருமபந்தம்.] The bond or connexion between the sins of former births and their subsequent punishment. கன்மபரிபாகம், s. Ripening, or expiration of the accumulated merit of the actions of former births, கன்மவொழிவு. கன்மபாதகம், s. A heinous crime. கன்மபாதகன், s. One guilty of some heinous crime, கொடியபாதகன். கன்மபூமி, s. The earth as the theatre of moral actions, or place where virtue and vice are practised, and their respective merit and demerit accumulated, பூலோகம். கன்மம்பிடிக்க, inf. To attend, follow, or pursue--as the guilt of crimes personified. கன்மம்புசிக்க, inf. To experience the good or evil of former actions. கன்மவலை, s. The net of moral actions, கன்மபாசம், i. e. the entanglements of births, or actions and their result, in subsequent transmigrations. கன்மவாதனை, s. See கருமவேதனை. கன்மரோகம்--கன்மவியாதி, s. See கருமவியாதி. கன்மவுடம்பு, s. Bodies assumed, as a result of former deeds, கன்மசரீரம். கன்மாதி, s. Funeral rites, &c., for deceased ancestors, கர்மாதி. கன்மி, s. A heinous sinner, a perpetrator of crimes, கருமி. கன்மேந்திரியம், s. The five organs of action, தொழிற்கருவி. See இந்திரியம். 68)

krumm (p. 96) s. Act, action, moral actions involving future retribution, &c., கிரியை. 2. Actions of a previous birth, good or evil, entailed on the soul and resulting in the enjoyments and sufferings of the present or a future state, fate, destiny, முன்வினை. 3. Business, profession, occupation, attempt, essay, enterprise, தொழில். 4. Religious rites, duties, &c., stated, periodical, or otherwise, according to the rules of the shasters; moral duty, specific action, duty, obligation imposed by peculiarities of tribe or occupation, &c., வைதீகக்கிரியை. 5. Natural activity, self-moving energy, &c., இயற்கைச்சொல். 6. Religious actions --as connected with the hope of future recompense and as opposed to speculative religion--as explained in the Agamas, ஆகாயமிருகம். 7. [in grammar.] The object of actions, செயப்படுபொருள். 8. Magical enchantment of eight kinds, அஷ்டகருமம். (1.) வசியம். getting a person into one's own power, influence, &c. (2.) மோகனம், libidinous fascinations. (3.) தம்பனம், stopping, checking, restraining the powers of fire, the flowing of water, the ferocity of wild beasts, &c., making a spirit or person stand immovable in a place and depriving him on the power of speech, &c. (4.) உச்சா டனம், setting demons against one to ruin him by magical incantations, or dislodging them from persons or places. (5.) ஆகருட ணம், summoning or invoking a spirit or absent person visibly into one's presence. (6.) வித்துவேடணம், excitment to hatred. (7.) பேதனம், causing separation, dissension, discord. Heat, உஷ்டணம். கருமஒழுங்குபெருமைக்களவு, rectitude of his actions is the measure of a man's dignity. கருமவரிசையால். For the attainment of an object-- (நாலடி.) கருமகர்த்தா, s. A doer, actor, performer. கருமஞ்செய்பவன். 2. [in grammar.] The agent, காரியகர்த்தர். கருமகாண்டம், s. A division of the Vedas, வேதநூலினோர்பகுப்பு. 2. A medical treatise of Agustya. One of the three parts of the Vedas, relating to daily ceremonial rites, வேதத்தின்பொருட்பாகுபாட் டிலொன்று. See ஞானபாகை, and அருத்தபாகை. கருமபூமி, s. Prescribed funeral rites for deceased ancestors, அந்தியேட்டிமுதலிய சடங்கு. கருமாதிகாரன், s. A ruler, a governor, கருமத்தலைவன். கருமாதிசெய்ய, inf. To perform funeral rites. கருமாத்துமா, s. A heinous sinner, one who has accumulated evil deeds either in a previous birth or the present. Wils. p. 199. KARMMATMAN. கருமாந்தம்--கருமாந்தரம்--கருமாந் தியம், s. kālam (p. 104) s. Time. duration, பொழுது-Note. In Hindu philosophy, காலம் is said by the Saivas to have proceeded from மோகினி Maya, and to be a co-efficient cause with Siva in the acts of creation, preservation and destruction. It is Time personified, and according to the Hindu metaphysicians, one of the seven வித்தியாத் துவம். (சிவ. சி.) 2. Season of the year or life; also a specific time of the day, பருவம். 3. A seasonable or proper time, opportunity, season, சமயம். Wils. p. 216. KALA. 4. Day-break, விடியல். 5. (fig.) (c.) The time appointed for death, as distinguished from that for accident death, முடிவு. 6. [in gram.] Tense; also, the characteristic of a tense, வினையின்காலம். The three tenses are, இறந்தகாலம், எதிர்காலம், நிகழ்காலம். 7. [in music.] The three measure--as (1.) விளம் பம், slow. (2.) துரிதம், quick. &c. (3.) மத் திமம், the medium. 8. Epoch, era, யுகம். 9. Weather, காலவியல்பு. காலத்துக்குத்தக்ககோலம். Adapting one's self to the times. காலத்துக்குத்தக்கதாய்நடக்க. inf. To live according to circumstances. காலம்போம்வார்த்தைநிற்கும். Employments, duties, &c., appropriate to an age, time, season, stage of life, &c., காலத்துக் குரியசெய்கை. காலக்கிரமம், s. The course of time; chronological order, காலவொழுங்கு. காலக்கிரயம், s. The price of the articles for the time being; current or market price, காலவிலை. காலக்குறி, s. Signs of the time. காலக்கொடுமை, s. The evils, calamities, &c., of time. காலங்கண்டவன், s. An experienced man; an aged person. காலங்கரந்தபெயரெச்சம், s. [in gram.] A relative participle without the characteristics of the tenses--as in கொல் யானை. காலங்கழிக்க, inf. To pass time கா லம்போக்க. காலங்கழிய, inf. To pass--as time, நாட்கழிய. காலங்கூட, inf. [local.] To die. காலசக்கரம், s. The different number of years of influence ascribed to the respective planets as operative on the lives of persons, ஆயுள்நியதிச்சக்கரம். 2. The aggregate of the years of the nine planets according to their respective influence, கிரகபலச்சக்கரம். 3. Period or term of life, ஆயுட்காலம். Wils. p. 216. KALACHAKRA.. அவனுக்குக்காலச்சக்கரமுடிவுவந்துவிட்டது. The end of his term is come. காலசங்கதி, s. Intelligence, news or events of the time or the day. காலசங்கை, s. Guess of time from mere inspection, காலஉத்தேசம். 2. Reckoning of time, காலக்கணக்கு. (p.) காலசந்தி, s. The daily morning worship; also applicable to that at noon and evening. 2. The interval between any two yugas, kalpas, &c. See கற்பம் and சந்தி. திரிகாலசந்தி, s. Worship in the morning, at noon and in the evening. காலசுகம், s. Favorableness of the time, astrologically and superstitiously considered. காலஞ்செல்ல, inf. To depart this life, to die. 2. [prov.] To be late. காலக்ஷயம்--காலட்சயம், s. Passing one's time or days, காலக்கழிவு. காலக்ஷேபம்--காலட்சேபம் s. Passing one's time or days; circumstances, welfare, &c., காலங்கழிக்கை. 2. Means of subsistence, சீவனம். Wils. p. 216. KALAKSHEPA. 3. Time in reference to the influences of planets upon the fortune, health, &c., of a person. காலநோக்காடு, s. [prov. in child-birth.] Natural and timely labor. காலந்தள்ள, inf. To pass one's days, to pass one's time, to maintain one's self, to live, காலம்போக்க. காலப்பரிச்சேதம், s. Discernment--as to the time of an event or the existences of a thing. It is one of the three பரிச்சேதம் modes of ascertaining facts. காலபரிபாகம், s. The maturity of the soul, or time for its attaining bliss, having eliminated its good and evil propensities. காலபேதம்--காலவித்தியாசம்--கால வேற்றுமை, s. Difference of time with respect to the changes it produces. காலபோகம், s. A crop of grain or fruits in the proper season. 2. The enjoyment or suffering resulting from previous moral actions, to which a living being at distant times is subjected, காலப் பயனுகர்வு. காலப்பெயர், s. Nouns or names of time--as year, month. 2. Nouns derived from names of time--as பங்குனன் (one born in the பங்குனி month). காலப்பெயர்ச்சி, s. Change of season or monsoon; unseasonable weather, கால விகற்பம். காலமயக்கம்--காலமயக்கு, s. [in gram.] An improper use of the tenses, காலவழு. 2. An allowed deviation in the use of tenses, காலவழுவமைதி. காலமலைவு, s. Confusion of statement in regard to time--as asserting that the lotus blooms in the evening, or the lily during the day. காலமல்லாக்காலம், s. An unfortunate, fatal time; an unseasonable time, அகாலம். காலமழை, s. Rain in the proper season, பருவத்திற்பெய்யுமழை. காலமறிய, inf. To know the times so as to adapt one's self to them, காலவகைய றிய. 2. To know things past, present or future intuitively or by apiritual sight --as yogis, காலவியற்கையறிய. காலமாறு, Morning by morning, every morning, காலைதோறும். (c.). காலமானம், s. Customs of the times. காலவழு, s. [in gram.] An improper use of the tenses--as the past for the future, &c., காலக்குற்றம். காலவாகுபெயர், s. [in gram.] Nouns of time or portions of time, used by metonymy for what is intimately connected with time--as கார்த்திகை, the name of a month, for a plant which mostly blossoms during the month. காலவிடைநிலை, s. [in gram.] Characteristics of tenses, காலத்தைக்காட்டுமிடை நிலை. They are 1. த், ட், ற், and இன் for the past. 2. ஆநின்று, கின்று and கிறு for the present. 3. ப், ல், for the future. There are some other characteristics-as மன், இசின், ய், இ, ன், &c. காலவிரைவு, v. noun. Swiftness or rapid flight of time. காலாகாலம், s. Times seasonable and unseasonable, auspicious and inauspicious, நற்காலந்துர்க்காலம். 2. One time or another, not often, not frequently. (c.) காலாக்கினி, s. The fire which is to destroy the world at the end of the great yuga; a deluge-fire said to be in reserve in the nethermost part of the earth. Wils. p. 218. KALAGNI. 2. One of the two-hundred and twenty-four புவ னம் under the regency of Kálágni. காலாக்கினியுருத்திரம், s. One of the thirty-two உபநிடதம். காலாக்கினியுருத்திரர், s. Rudra or the deity in the lowest region, in charge of the deluge-fire. There are ten subordinate Rudras, who resemble their chief. காலாந்தம், s. The end of time, கால முடிவு; [ex. அந்தம்.] காலாந்தரம், s. Intermediate space of time, process of time, காலநடை. 2. Meanwhile, காலவிடை; [ex அந்தரம், interval.] காலேச்சுரவாதம், s. The metaphysical philosophy which maintains that Time is God. காலோசிதம், s. A fit, proper time, உச் சிதகாலம்; [ex உசிதம்.] அந்தியகாலம், s. The time of death. ஆங்கால மெய்வருந்த வேண்டா வதுதானே தேங்காய்க் கிளநீர்போற் சேருமே, போங்காலம் காட்டானை தின்ற கனியதுபோ லாகுமே தேட்டாளன் றேடுந் தனம். Wealth shall or itself accumulate at the appointed time of increase, as the liquor within a cocoanut, and no toll is required; but at the fixed time for ruin, the riches of a hard-working man shall pass away like the contents of a woodapple eaten by an elephant. எக்காலமும். At what time soever, always. சாங்காலம், s. The time of death or ruin. திரிகாலம்--முக்காலம், s. The three divisions of time, present, past, and future. 2.The three tenses of a verb. திரிசந்திகாலம். kuvi (p. 128) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To become conical; to be heaped, or formed in heaps--as sand, gram, &c., கும்பமாக. 3. To contract; to collapse; to close--as flowers by night; to be closed--as an umbrella, கூம்ப. 4. To be joined conically--as the hands for worship or reverence, கைகுவிய. 5. To be thickly crowded; to be close, thick, clustered, &c.--as people, நெருங்கி மொய்க்க. 6. To become globular, திரள. 7. To be accumulated, stored up--as treasure, to be hoarded up, திரவியங்குவிய. 8. To converge, to tend to a focus--as rays of light, ஒளிகதிர்குவிய. 9. To assume a circular configuration--as the lips in kissing or in pronouncing the vowels, உ, ஊ, ஒ, ஓ, ஔ, இதழ்குவிய. 1. To be drawn in, closed up, &c.--as the rays of the setting sun, கிரண குவிய. 11. (fig.) To be engrossed in mind by some absorbing object; to be shut up from worldly things to spiritual contemplations, மணங்குவிய. குவிந்தவடிவு, s. A cone; a conical figure. குவிகை, v. noun. Convexity. குவியல், v. noun. A heap, a pile, அம் பாரம். குவிந்தமனம்--குவிமனம், s. A mind, disencumbered from worldly things and set on divine objects. குவிவு, s. [v. noun] A heap, a conical pile, accumulation, குவிந்தது. 2. Any thing conical in shape, coniform, கும்பவடிவானது. 3. Joining the hands conically, கைகூப்பு கை. 4. Conicalness, மொட்டு. 5. The state of being closed, drawn in--as the rays of the setting sun, கிரணங்குவிகை. குவை, s. A heap, a conical pile; a dunghill, குப்பை. 2. A collection, accumulation; crowd, shoal, கூட்டம். 3. A cone, any thing conical, குவிவு. 4. A hillock, மேடு. 10)

kūṭu (p. 133) கிறேன், கூடினேன், வேன், கூட, v. n. To join with, to combine, coalesce, பொருந்த. 2. To collect or crowd together, to assemble; to congregate, convene muster, கூட்டங்கூட. 3. To associate or consort with one, சங்கர த்தஞ்செய்ய. 4. To unite, knit--as broken bones, பொருந்த. 5. To cohabit, கூடிவாழ. 6. To meet--as rivers in confluence, or as roads, சந்திக்க. 7. To become reconciled, pacified, conciliated, இணங்க. 8. To be able, be possible, practicable, attainable, இயல. 9. To be lawful, expedient, proper, decent, தகுதியாக. 1. To be fit, to be serviceable, to be suitable, பிரயோசனப்பட. 11. To become possessed of, to attain, அடைய. 12. To accumulate, to hoarded or stored up, தொகை சேர. 13. To come to pass, to be brought about, to be effected, சித்திக்க. 14. To be annexed, superadded, அதனமாய்ச்சேர. 15. To come in conjunction--as planets, &c., கிரகங் கள்கூட. 16. To commence, to take place, தொடங்க. 17. v. a. (சது.) To pursue, follow out; to seek, தேட. பன்றியோடுகூடியகன்றும்பீதின்னும். A calf in company with a swine will learn to devour filth; i. e. a man will conform to his associates. இதுஅவனாலேகூடும். He is able to do it. இனிஅவன்கூடான். Henceforth, he will be good-for-nothing. இதுகாரியத்துக்குக்கூடும். This will serve the purpose. நடுவழியிலேகூடினான். He met me in the middle of the road. கூடிப்பிரியேல். Break not (old) friendships. (Av.) அமாவாசைகூடிவிட்டது. [prov.] The time of new moon has already come. ஆளோடேகூடிவிட்டான். He has begun to come into society (from obscurity or boyhood). 2. He is convalescent; he is getting around. ஆகக்கூடியதொகை. The total amount. கூடிக்கொள்ள, inf. To band together; to form an association, to take part in, to side with. 2. To meet together, to assemble. 3. To exceed, surpass. 4. To gain strength and vigor. கூடிவர, inf. To accompany. 2. To prosper, succeed. கூடிநாடித்திரிய, inf. To associate or consort with one, to be on terms of close friendship. கூடாநட்பு, s. False friendship. கூடாவுவமை, s. [in rhet.] A simile in which the comparison is made with a thing having only a hypothetical existence, ஓர்உவமையலங்காரம். கூடாவொழுக்கம், s. Immoral conduct --as of anchorets who in secret break their vows. கூடல், v. noun. Approaching, assembling, &c.; seeking, uniting, cohabiting, being possible, &c.--as the verb கூடு. See also கூடல். s. கூடாமை, neg. [v. noun.] Impropriety, indecorum, பொருந்தாமை. 2. Inability, impossibility, impracticability. கூட்டரவு, v. noun. Collection, aggregate, series, பொருட்கூட்டம். 2. Crowd, association, combination. கூட, inf. [adverbially.] Together, in company, collecting together. 2. Even, also; often in composition with உம். 3. More than due, more than enough, too much; additionally. 4. part. With, together with. எல்லாருங்கூடவாருங்கள். Come all together. குருவுக்குக்கூடப்பயப்படான். He is not afraid even of his guru. அவன்வீட்டிலேதண்ணீர்கூடக்குடியார்கள்.... They will not drink even water in his house--said in disparagement. நான்கூடஅறியேன். I also know it. அவனுக்குக்கூடக்கொடுத்துப்போட்டீர். You have given him too much. ஐந்துரூபாய்கூடத்தந்தார். He gave five rupees in addition. என்கூடவா. Come with me. கூடிய--கூடின, rel. part. Practicable, possible, convenient, proper, &c. என்னாற்கூடியபணிவிடைக்குக்காத்திருக்கிறேன். I am ready to do any service in my power. கூடியமட்டும்--கூடியமாத்திரம். As far or as much as possible; as much as one is able; to the utmost. கூடும். It is possible, proper, fit, practicable, lawful, &c. கூடாது. It is impossible, impracticable, inconvenient, improper, unlawful, unfit, &c. 2. Note to be done--either as command or an entreaty--according to the manner and tone of the speaker. கால்கைகூடாது. My hands and feet are worn out; i. e. with hard work. என்னாற்கூடாது. I cannot; I will not. கூடாதகாரியம். An impossible thing. கூடலர்--கூடார், s. Enemies, foes, aliens, பகைவர். 26)

kūṭṭu (p. 133) கிறேன், கூட்டினேன், வேன், கூட்ட, v. a. To unite, conjoin, combine, connect, இணைக்க. 2. To collect together, to assemble, சேர்க்க. 3. To compound, mingle, commix, amalgamate, கலக்க. 4. To add, cast or sum up; to aggregate, தொகைப்படுத்த. 5. To increase--as interest, salary, allowance, price, &c.; to enhance, to augment, அதிகரிக்கச்செய்ய. 6. To add--as ingredients in food, medicine, &c., கூடச்சேர்க்க. 7. To receive, take, or admit one into a company, party, class, society, partnership, &c., சபை முதலியவற்றிற்கூட்ட. 8. To accumulate, hoard, to store up, to treasure up, சேகரிக்க. 9. To sweep; to gather--as sweepings, பெருக்க. 1. To take one in company, admit into society, or receive to office, &c. இன்று போசனத்துக்கென்ன கூட்டிக்கொண் டாய். What have you eaten with your food rice to-day? கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோக--கூட்டிப்போக, inf. To take in company, to take along; to carry, convey. 2. To gather up and take away. கூட்டிச்சேர்க்க, inf. To collect together. கூட்டிப்பிடிக்க, inf. To hold together --as things in the hand. 2. To encroach upon--as lands. 3. To grasp, take up, or thumb too much, in measuring cloth, &c. 4. [local] To receive, entertain, treat with kindness--as a repenting prodigal. கூட்டிமுடிக்க, inf. To gather up and tie the hair. 2. To accomplish, to bring about--as the deity, or as the actions of former births, producing their proper fruits--little used. கூட்டிவிட, inf. A famous medicinal oil compounded of castor, margosa and rape-seed oils. கூட்டுக்கால்கட்ட, inf. To tie a beast's forelegs together. கூட்டாகுழப்பம், s.
