cūḷāmaṇi (p. 201) s. One of the two wonderful gems of Swerga--as சூடாமணி; [ex Sa. Choola, a crest.] சூளாமணிநிகண்டு--சூடாமணிநிகண்டு, s. The most popular Tamil vocabulary in use, written in poetry by a professor of the jaina religion, probably a thousand years ago, before their persecution and banishment by the prevalence of the Brahmanic system. 22)

tṉi (p. 231) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், தனிக்க, v. n. To be alone, single solitary, தனியா யிருக்க. 2. To be detached from company, ஒன்றியாக. 3. To have no mate, fellow, equal or match, ஒட்டாதிருக்க. 4. To be deserted, forsaken, helpless--as by the departure, or death of friends, அந்தரிக்க. (c.) தனிக்க, inf. tḷḷu (p. 229) s. Pushing, rejecting, a shove, propulsion, தாக்கு. (c.) 2. Deduction, discount, கழிவு. 3. Dismission, discharge, banishment, divorcement, protrusion, நீக்கு. 4. Abandonment, renunciation, relinguishment, கைவிடல். தள்ளுண்ண--தள்ளுப்பட, inf. To be dismissed, தள்ளப்பட. தள்ளுண்டவன், appel. n.
