To pray, beseech, entreat, solicit, வேண்டிக்கொள்ள. இரந்தும்பரந்தவர்க்கீந்தவர். Those who give to beggars although they themselves have to ask alms. இரந்துணி--இரந்துண்ணி, s. A beggar, இரப்போன். To ridicule, scorn, deride, பரிகாசஞ்செய்ய. 4. To disgrace, contemn, அவமதிக்க. (c.) இளித்தவாய்ப்பட்டம், s. Notoriety for grinning, இளிச்சவாயனெனப்படுகை. 2. The character of a sauntering idler. 3. The state or character of one baffled or defeated in his projects. குரங்குபோலிளித்தவாயன். One who grins like a monkey. பல்லையிளிக்க, inf. To laugh foolishly. இளிச்சற்கண், s. Blear eyes, eyes sore with rheum. இளிப்பு--இளிவு, v. noun. Grinning, simpering, tittering, பல்லிளிக்கை. 2. Ridicule, scorn, derision, இழிவு. 3. Disgrace, நிந்தை. நாயையடித்துப்பல்லிளிவுபார்க்கிறதினாலேயென் ன? What will it avail to strike a dog and then look at its grin? [prov.] எள்ளினிளிவாமென்றெண்ணி. uyir (p. 63) s. Life, soul, vitality, animal or vegetable life, சீவன். 2. Wind, காற்று. 3. A vowel, உயிரெழுத்து. 4. A living being, human, brute, or vegetable; an animal, ஓரறி வுயிர்முதலியசீவராசி. உயிருமுடலும்போல. As closely united as the soul and body. உயிர்போய்விட்டது. Life is gone. மன்னுயிர்க்கிரங்குகிறது. To be compassionate to other living creatures. உயிரடங்க, inf. To be in a state of insensibility, be in a swoon, to be suspended as the vital powers. உயிரடைய, inf. To revive, to be reanimated. உயிரளபு--உயிரளபெடை, s. The lengthening of a vowel in verse. See அளபெடை. உயிரறுதியும். Till the very end of life. உயிருதவி, s. Aid in a fatal juncture. 2. A family low in rank. எளியகொடை, s. Unworthy gifts, presents unsuitable to the persons to whom they are made. எளியது, s. That which is despicable, low trifling, &c., எளிமையானது. எளியவன்--எளியன், s. A man of low caste, a person poor, destitute, mean, &c. எளியவன்பெண்டாட்டியெல்லாருக்கும்மைத்துன ச்சி. The wife of a poor man is free of access to every body. எளியாரைவலியார்கேட்பின் வலியாரைத்தெய்வங் கேட்கும். If the powerful oppress the weak, the deity will require it of them. எளியவிலை, s. Low price. எளியவேலை, s. Low, menial work. கைக்கெளியது, s. That which is portable, small, easily carried, stolen, secreted, managed, as a child, &c. தாளையேதரமறிகிலாதெமக்கெளிதருசிவப்பிரகாசன். The guru (Sivaprakasa) who readily admits us to his feet; i. e., he is ready to grant our desires (சத.) 24)

I cannot afford to give so much. அவன்அடிதாங்குவான். He can endure blows. அவனுக்குச்சாப்பாடுகொடுத்துத்தாங்காது. No one can afford to feed him. காலைத்தாங்கித்தாங்கிவைக்கிறது. The animal limps in walking. அவனையேதாங்கிக்கொண்டுதிரிகிறான். He pleases him, to gain his own purpose. அவன்கையைத்தாங்கு. Ward off his hand, his blow, &c. மறுமொழிச்சொல்லித்தாங்காது. There is no end of answering such questions. [prov.] சரீரந்தாங்காது. The constitution will not hear it. தாங்கித்தாங்கிப்பேசுகிறான். He speaks haltingly. மாடுகால்தாங்கித்தாங்கிவைக்கிறது. The bullock hobbles (by pain in the hoof). தாங்கத்தாங்கத்தலையிலேற. To become the more arrogant, the more kindness is shown. 2. To be supercilious on account of humble applications. மலையைமலைதாங்கவேண்டும்மண்ணாங்கட்டிதாங்கு மா. One moutain supports another, can a clod of earth do it? விஞ்சையிற்றாங்கினன் சடையன் வெண்ணெய்யிற் தஞ்சமென்றோர்களைத்தாங்குந்தன்மைபோல். (Nalan) upheld, by charms (the mountain), as Sadaiyan of Truvennainallur supported those who came to him for refuge. (இராமா.) தாங்கமாட்டான். One unable to endure. தாங்குகோல், s. [fem. பல்லி.] A man with long or large teeth. பல்லிடுக்கு, s. Partings between the teeth, in reference to food sticking in them. பல்லுகட்ட--பற்கட்ட, inf. To fasten teeth [with gold] 2. To make and place [artificial] teeth. பல்லுகிட்டல்--பற்கிட்டல், v. noun. Chattering of the teeth from cold. 2 Closing together the jaws in convulsions; (lit.) approaching together of the teeth. பல்லுக்காட்ட--பல்லைக்காட்ட--பற்கா ட்ட, inf.
