To be shed or cast out, to fall, சிந்த. கொட்டினாற்றேள் கொட்டாவிட்டாற்பிள்ளைப்பூச்சி. If it sting, it is a scorpion; if not, it is a harmless gryllus; i. e. we call things good or bad according to their effect on us. கொட்டிக்கொட்டியளக்க, inf. To cast down and measure again and again; i. e. again, one marcal will not make two. கொட்டிகொட்டியளந்தாலுங்குறுணிபத்தாகாது. Though you measure over and over again, one marcal will not make two. கரப்பன்அள்ளிக்கொட்டிப்போட்டது. An eurption has broken out all over the body. பனிகொட்டுகிறது. The dew falls heavily. கொட்டிக்கொடுக்க, inf. To pour out and give, to give to excess, to lavish, to squander. 2. (fig.) To make a display of words, to say more than is proper. சப்பாணிகொட்ட, inf. Its origin is derived from Isa's third face called அகோரமுகம், and is of the Vaisya caste, வைசியசாதி. 4. சம்பத்துவேட்டம், consisting of twelve measures, or மாத்திரை, 12, viz.: புலுதம், 1, three measures; குரு, 1, three kurus, or six measures; புலுதம். 1, or three measures. Its origin is derived from Isa's second face, called தற்புருடம், and is of the Sudra caste, சூத்திரசாதி. 5. உற்கடிதம், consisting of six measures, or மாத்திரை, 1, viz.: குரு, 1 three kurus, or six measures. Its origin is derived from Isa's first face called ஈசானமுகம், and is of the mixed caste, சங்கிரமசாதி, or சங்கர சாதி. தாளம், 7, or சத்ததாளம். The seven modes of time, in singing; and the seven notes, or seven tunes, in music. 1. துரு வம், consisting of one இலகு, or one மாத்தி ரை, of one குரு or two மாத்திரை, and one துரிதம், or a half மாத்திரை. The notes belonging to it are சரிகம, கரிசரி கரிசரி and கம. 2. மட்டியம், consisting of one இலகு. one துரிதம், and of one இலகு. The notes belonging to it are சரிகரி, சரி, and சரிகம. 3. உரூபகம், consisting of one இலகு and one துரிதம். The notes belonging to it are சரிகசரிகம. 6. அடதாளம், consisting of one இலகு, two துரிதம், and one இலகு. The notes are சரிகா, சாரிகா, மா, மா. 7. ஏகதாளம், consisting of one இலகு. The notes are சரிகம. தாளம், 9, or நவசந்திதாளம். pṟai (p. 303) s. Drum, tabor of various kinds as beaten for public proclamation, or on festive or mournful occasions, commonly by the Pariah caste வாச்சியம். 2. A rod for striking off grain, in measuring, a strickle. பறைக்காளி--பறைக்காலி--பறைக்கால், s. [vul. பறக்காளி.] Muslin of fine cloth woven by Pariahs; also used for a coarse kind. பறைக்குடி, s. A Pariah family. பறைக்கோலம், s. Mean attire or appearance. பறைசாற்ற, inf. To publish govern ment orders by beat of drum. 2. [fig.] To blab out secrets, to tattle, வெளிப்படுத்த. பறைச்சேரி, s. A Pariah village. பறைதட்ட, inf. To beat a drum. 2. As பறைசாற்ற. 3. To strike off the பறை measure, தலைவழிக்க. பறைதட்டினாற்போல. As the beating of a drum; or as a measure of grain, stricken. Pariah habits, practices &c. 2. Low, vile, degraded habits. பறைப்பாட்டு, s A song sung by a Pariah, any low song. 2. Low abuse, as offered by a Pariah, &c., திட்டு. பறைபாட்டுக்குஞ் [or பறைப்பேச்சுக்கும்.] சுரை ப்பூவிற்குமணமில்லை. The song or speech of a Pariah, and the flower of சுரை gourd are both destitute of fragrance. பறைப்புடையன், s. A kind of புடை யன் serpent. பறைப்பூச்சி, s. [prov.] A spider. பறைப்பேச்சு, s. Low, vulgar language, the ungrammatical dialect of Pariahs. பறைமுழக்கு, v. noun. The sounding of drums by Pariahs at the temples of the ferocious deities, and at cross roads, in case of sickness. பறைமுறை, s. Publishing by beat of drum. பறைமுறைசாற்ற--பறைமுறைபோட --பறைமுறையிட, inf.
