cāturiyam (p. 176) s. [com. சாதூரியம்.] Eloquence, power or skill in address, flippancy, volubility, fluency, shrewdness in speech, சதுர்ப்பாடு. 2. Cleverness, dexterity, ability, address, sagacity, cunning management, wariness, artfulness, சாமர்த்தியம். --not applicable to manual actions. (c.) 3. [ex சதுரம்.] Profound knowledge, கல்வித்திறம். W. p. 322. CHATURYYA. சாதுரியப்பூனை மீனிருக்கப் புளியங்காயைத்தின்றுதாம். The artful cat left the fish, and seemed to be eating the tamarind fruit near it; [that the owner might leave the fish exposed] --spoken of one who acts with address to secure future objects. சாதுரியப்பேச்சு, s. Ambiguous, skilful discourse by which a person secures his object and takes care not to commit himself. சாதுரியம்பண்ண, inf. To give a hint dexterously; to answer shrewdly, indirectly, with address, &c., to waive a subject politely. சாதுரியங்காட்ட, inf. To display eloquence, ability, &c. 2. To act with address, cleverness, &c. சாதுரியன், s. [com. சாதுரியவான்.] A man of address, management, dexterity. 2. A person of skilful discourse, an eloquent man, an orator. சாதுரியாகமம், s. [R. He speaks broken language; (lit.) half and quarter words. அப்படிச்சொல்லு. Say so--as a command; or as meaning--that is right. ஒருசொல்லுள்ளமனிதன்--ஒருசொல் வாசகன், s.
