To spirt as drops or particles of water. &c., to splash up, top up, as spray, சிதற. 4. To spring or hop, as fleas, துள்ள. 5. To part, burst, asunder--as a knot, a rope, a fiddle string; to fly apart, burst in pieces, fly off or be struck off, as pieces or sparks, அற. (c.) 6. He speaks wickedly enough to make his tongue burst asunder. பிணிதெறித்துப்போயிற்று. The disease is remedied. பொறிதெறிக்கிறது. Sparks fly out. கண்தெறித்தது. The eye is suddenly blinded; (lit.) broken by lightning &c. தெறிபட்டுப்போயிற்று. It has failed, come to naught. தெறிப்பான். He will burst asunder; a curse. தெறிக்கடிக்க, inf. [prop. தெறிக்கஅடி க்க.] To scatter, disperse, as an army; to beat or hammer so as to cause bursting, or to make a part fly off, to confound, to puzzle in controversy. தெறிக்கப்பேச, inf. To speak so as to offend, to break up friendship. தெறித்தவன், appel. n. A man of cruel conduct; used in cursing. தெறித்துவிழ, s. To strike on some thing in falling. 2. To burst to pieces; spoken of one who so acts as to reader himself liable to a curse. தெறிபதம், s. Spirtling of medicinal oil when boiling. தெறி, v. noun. Spattering, splash, spirt, சிதறுகை. தெறிப்பு, v. noun. Rebound, recoil, flying back, resilence, உதைந்துமீள்கை. 2. Spirit, spatter, splash, dash, சிந்துகை. 3. Parting, bursting asunder, flying apart; snapping off, breaking, as a limb, முறிகை, 4. Shooting with the fingers, snapping. &c., சுண்டுகை. 5. teṟi (p. 257) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. [prov.] To flirt off, shoot a particle with the finger and thumb, to bespatter, உந்த. 2. To snap a bow-string, or fiddle-string, with the finger and thumb to try its lightness, to strike the springs of a lute with the fingers, வீணைநரம்புதெறிக்க. 3. A stringed instrument, யாழ்முதலியன. நரப்புக்கருவியாளர்--நரப்புக்கருவியை க்கொளுத்துமாக்கள், s. [plu.] Fiddlers, players on stringed instruments, lutists. நரம்பன், s. [fem. நரம்பி.] An emaciated person whose veins stand out, நரம் பெழுமுடம்பன். 2. A thin, meagre person, மெலிந்தோன். (c.) 3. [prov.] Tobacco leaf in which the fibres are prominent, ஓர்வகைப்புகையிலை. நரம்பினாதம்--நரம்பினோசை, s. The sound of the string of a musical instrument. நரம்புக்கயிறு, s. Cords sewed into the seams of a sail-cloth. 2. As நரம்பு. 2. நரம்புக்காய், s. A long thin fruit, as that of the முருங்கை. நரம்புச்சிலந்தி, s. [sometimes நரம்புச் சிலந்தி.] A long slender worm between the skin and muscles, guinea worm, ஓர்புண். (c.) 2. Boil on a nerve. நரம்புச்சுளுக்கு, s. Contraction of a ligament, or muscle. See சுளுக்கு. நரம்புப்பற்ற, inf. To become meagre, emaciated. நரம்புப்பிடிப்பு, v. noun. Cramp, spasm, convulsion, contraction of a muscle. நரம்புப்புடைத்தல், v. noun. Swelling of the veins, becoming prominent as the veins from straining or over-fulness as in singing, &c., or of a pregnant woman. நரம்புமுடக்கம், s. Contraction of the nerves. நரம்புவாங்க--நரம்பெடுக்க, inf. To take off the fibres from leaves, fruits. &c. 2. To cut the tendons of the feet; used in anger. 3. To oppress one. 4. muṟukku (p. 359) கிறேன், முறுக்கினேன், வேன், முறுக்க, v. n. To wrest, distort, pervert, twist; to twist a rope, திரிக்க. 2. To chafe the limbs of another to promote the circulation of blood, முறுக்கிப்பிடிக்க. 3. v. n. To be angry, to chafe, to be irritable, பிணங்க. (c.) ஏன்நீமுறுக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறாய். Why are you angry? முறுக்கித்தேய்க்க, inf. To chafe the hands and legs in rubbing on oil for bathing. முறுக்கிவிட, inf. To screw the pins of a fiddle, &c. 2. (fig.) Overtwisted rope, twine or thread. முறுக்கடிக்க, inf. To oppose another's command. முறுக்கவரை, s. A kind of bean, அவரை, Dolichos tetragonolabus. முறுக்காணி, s. [poet. மாடகம்.] Screw for a violin, lute, &c. முறுக்காற்றுதல், v. noun. Loosening what is twisted too much. முறுக்கிழை, s. Well twisted cottonthread. 2.
