kḷi (p. 100) s. Joy, gladness, delight, exhilaration, exultation, mirth, jollity, hilarity, மகிழ்ச்சி. 2. Riot, revelling கள்முதலிய அருந்திக்களிக்கை. 3. Wantonness, licentiousness, unrestrained passions, arrogance, சிற் றின்பம். 4. Bewilderment, aberration of mind or intellect, intoxication whether from liquor or circumstances, frenzy, fury, மயக்கம். 5. Toddy, vinous liquor, கள். 6. A person intoxicated with money, learning, liquor, &c., a reveller, செருக்குள்ளவன். (p.) 7. Thick pulp, any soft, thick mass --as thick pap, &c., the quality or consistency of a thick paste or glutinous matter, இறுகியபழச்சாறு. 8. A kind of pap of hasty-pudding, குழம்பு. 9. A kind of pottage hard in itself and made with flour, மாவாற்கிண்டியகளி. களிகிண்ட--களிகிளற, inf. To make களி, pap. களிகூர, inf. To rejoice, exult, மகிழ்ச்சிகூர. களிக்காய், s. Pulpy-fruit, களிப் பானகாய். களிநெஞ்சன், s. A jovial, wanton person. களிப்பாக்கு, s. Areca-nut boiled and dried, அவித்தபாக்கு. களிமண், s. Clay, potter's clay. களிமண்ணடைக்கிறதுபோலடைத்துப்போடுகிறான். He takes in, or swallows up as if he had to fill (a pit) with clay; i. e. he is a glutton, a gormand, a gormandizer. களிமண்தரை, s. Clayey soil. களியர், s. Bacchanaliaus, drunkards, கள்ளுண்டுகளிப்போர். களியர்வண்ணம், s. A poem extolling the advantages of high living, dainty food, vinous liquors, &c., an epicurean poem, ஓர்வண்ணம். களியாட்டு, s. Drunken feasts, bacchanalism, revels, உண்டாட்டு. கேழ்வரகுகளி--கம்புக்களி--சோ ளக்களி, s. Pottage prepared with the flour of different grains. 13)

kuti (p. 120) க்கிறேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To jump, leap, spring, bound, skip; to leap from, to rebound, பாய. 2. To spirt out, splash up--as water; to spring, to be brisk or active--as quicksilver, இரச முதலியனருசிக்க. 3. (fig.) To be boisterous, frolic, haughty, arrogant, பெருமையிலேதுள்ள. 4. v. a. to pass over, to leap over, கடக்க. 5. To surpass, overcome, to escape from, கடந்துபோக. குதித்துக்குதித்துமாவிடித்தாலும்புழுக்கைக்கொருகொ ழுக்கட்டையே. Though the poor maidservant beat flour ever so hard and briskly, she will have but a small கொழுக்கட்டை cake. குதித்துப்பாய, inf. To leap over, to leap down from a carriage, &c. 2. (fig.) To be insolent or wanton, to be unjust, cruel, &c. குதித்துவிழ, inf. To jump into, to plunge, to dive. 2. To jump down from a height. குதி, v. noun. A jump, a leap, jumping, குதிப்பு. 2. Energy, exertion, முயற்சி. குதிகொள்ள, inf. To frisk, to leap, to play about, to revel, sport, frolic, &c., through intoxication or excessive mirth; to be jolly, high-spirited, ஆனந்தக்கூத் தாட. 2. To dwell and sport with one-as the goddess of prosperity; to abound--as prosperity, felicity, செல்வமுதலியதேங்க. 3. To be excessive, to exceed bounds, to overflow, அளவுகடக்க. கூற்றங்குதித்தலுங்கைகூடும். It is possible even to overcome the god of death. (p.) குதிப்பு--குதியன், v. noun. To condense, to consolidate by shaking; to shake together in a mass, ஆட் டியிறுகச்செய்ய. 3. v. n. To put on airs, to be foppish, to be vain, பிலுக்குக்காட்ட. கலசத்தினீரைக்குலுக்கிவீசு. You cannot confide in those who speak laughingly. சிரித்துக்கழுத்தறுக்குதல். Smiling on one and cutting his throat at the same time. i. e., injuring one under the disguise of friendship. தன்னைச்சிரிப்பாரைத் தானறியான். He knows not who laughs at him; he laughs at others not aware how much he is despised. (p.) சிரித்தமுகம், s. A smiling-face, a cheerful countenance. சிரித்துக்கொள்ள, inf. To express joy by smiling. 2. To indicate approval, or consent by a smile. 3. To interchange smiles--as lovers. சிரித்துவிளையாட, inf. To jest and dally --as lovers. சிரித்துப்பேச, inf.
