ēkōtiṭṭam (p. 77) --ஏகோதிஷ்டம், s. A principal part of the Shradd'ha or funeral rite performed at the house after the அந்தியேட்டி, for the benefit of the deceased, by the sons or other heirs. The officiating brahman personifies the manes of the deceased and receives whatever is presented, which should be sufficient for his support, till the anniversary of the death, during which he should not appear abroad or be seen by the heirs of the deceased whom he represents. The cloth with which the sacrificial pot is adorned. கும்பஸ்தாபனம், s. Setting up sacred pots for worship, religious ceremonies, &c. கும்பதக்கணை-கும்பதட்சிணை, s. Money for the sacrificial pot as an offering to the gods, and taken by the officiating priest. கும்பாபிஷேகம், s. The consecration of an idol, a king, &c., by pouring water from the sacrificial pots with appropriate ceremonies, &c., கும்பநீரபிஷேகம். கும்பமெடுக்க, inf. The four special seasons for the கிரியாபூசை, at the temples are பிராதக் காலம், at dawn; 2. மாத்தியானிகம், at midday; 3. சாயங்காலம், at sunset; 4. அர்த்த சாமம், at midnight.
