ūṭu (p. 69) s. [as உள்.] The inside, that which is intermediate, between, நடு. (சத. 18.) 2. [vul.] Wool, thread woven across the warp, தார்நூல்.--Note. Commonly ஊடு as an affix governs the dative--as அவர்களுக்கூடேவந்தான், he came between them. இந்தஅலுவல்களுக்கூடேயிதையுமெப்படிச்செய்வே ன். How can I possibly do this in the midst of so much business? கனவூடும். Even in a dream-- (பார.) ஊடறுக்க, inf. To cut through, separate and pass through, cleave, to sunder--as an arrow; to force one's way through people, jungle, beasts, &c., உள்ளறுக்க. 2. To determine between two parties, to decide differences, settle amicably, வழக்குத்தீர்க்க. ஊடாட, inf. To go about--as a domestic in a house, அகத்திலுலாவித்திரிய. 2. To frequent, பலகாற்பயில. 3. To deal, or be familiar with, பழக. 4. To be conversant with a subject--as of science, art, &c., கல்விபயில. பாரைக்கூடாடாதபாறைபசுமரத்தின்வேருக்கூடாடி விடும். A rock that cannot be moved by a crow-bar gives way to the roots of a tree. முட்டரோடாடியநட்புக்கருங்காலிக்கட்டையூடா டியகால். Friendship with the base is like a hard block thrown against the knee. மயிரூடாடாநட்புச்சிறிதுபொருளுடாடக்கெடும்... Friendship so close as not to admit of even a hair-like interruption may be destroyed by pecuniary dealings. ஊடாடிப்பார்க்க, inf. Instrument, means; pecuniary ability, திராணி. 4. Complete preparation, எத்தனம். 5. Inducement, நிமித்தம். 6. [in rhetoric.] A figure of speech showing the cause, motive, &c., ஓரலங்காரம். 7. [in logic.] The reason alleged in proof of a proposition, one of the three parts of an argument, the other two being பட்சம் and திட்டாந்தம்--as in attributing the existence of smoke to the presence of fire. To seek occasion, opportunity, &c., வகைபார்க்க. ஏதுவாக, inf. To be adapted to; subject or liable to. ஏதுவாக்க, inf. To adapt, suit; to subject, make liable to. ஏதுவானவன், s. A man of property, means, pecuniary ability. ஏதுவிலக்கு, s. A figure in rhetoric --as காரணவிலக்கு. ஏதுவின்முடித்தல், v. noun. Giving the reasons or causes of things asserted by an author as a clue to the subject without extended description. See உத்தி. ஏதுவுருவகம், s. Fragrant oil, essential vegetable oil, balsam, medicinal oil, tincture, மருந்தெண் ணெய். 4. An oil or balsam for anointing, அபிஷேகதைலம். 5. The sap of a tree or plant, சாரம், 6. (fig.) niṉ (p. 277) [a change of Sa. prefix நிர், before soft letters.] For most of the compounds, see under நிர். நின்மலம், s. Purity, immaculateness. நின்மலாவத்தை, s. [also மேலாலவத் தை.] Certain parts of the body regarded as stations of the soul, seeking deliverance from Malam. They are five-fold: 1. நின்மலச்சாக்கிரம், soul's coming to a full vision; 2. நின்மலசொப்பனம், not being affected by the elements; 3. நின்ம லகழுத்தி, insensibility to sinful desires; 4. நின்மலதுரியம், reaching the region of நீ நீக்குப்போக்கு, s. nīṭṭu (p. 277) s. Length of time of space, நீளம். 2. See நீட்டு, v. (c.) நெடுநீட்டுக்குத்தவணைசொல்லுகிறான். He is adding term to term; i. e. putting off paying. நீட்டுப்போக்கு, s. Tallness and robustness, நெடுமைவலிமை. 2. Spaciousness, width, broadness, width and length, அகலநீளம். 3. One's ability, pecuniary or other, திராணி. நீட்டுப்போக்கானஆள். A tall, robust man. 2.
