cāmpu (p. 177) s. A drum, பறை. (சது.) 2. A whole piece of cloth containing several small pieces--as handkerchiefs, &c., சீலை. --Note. There are different pieces of cloth of various lengths, as லேஞ்சிச் சாம்பு, கையொலிச்சாம்பு, சட்டைச்சாம்பு, சோமன்சாம்பு, which see severally. 63)

citṟu (p. 182) கிறேன், சிதறினேன், வேன், சிதற, v. a. To disperse, scatter, to shiver, to diffuse--as seeds, grain, &c., இறைக்க. 2. (fig.) To squander, to waste, பொருளழிக்க. 3. To shed, pour out, சிந்த. 4. v. n. To be shed, strewed; to disperse--as a company; to be scattered--as a flock, கலைய. (Compare சிதர், v.) 5. To be diverted as the attention from the subject in hand, புத் திசிதற. 6. To wander, ramble about, go astray, திரிந்தலைய. 7. (fig.) To prove fruitless, or unprofitable, பயன்படாதுபோக. (c.) தண்ணீரையெங்குஞ்சிதறாதே. Don't spill the water every where. பணத்தையெல்லாஞ்சிதறிச்சீரழித்தான். He has squandered all the money. கூடினமேகமெல்லாஞ்சிதறிப்போயின. The gathered clouds are all dispersed. பார்வைசிதறியிருக்கின்றது. The sight is injured. புத்தியைச்சிதறவிடாதே. Don't let your mind be bewildered. பதறாதகாரியஞ்சிதறாது. A well meditated matter will never fall short of success. சேனைசிதறியது. The army was dispersed. சிதறடிக்க, inf. [prop. சிதறவடிக்க.] To scatter, disperse. (c.) சிதறினமனம், s. A distracted mind, divided attention. சிதறுதேங்காயுடைக்க, inf. [prov.] To shiver or break cocoanuts to pieces--as at the temple. (c.) சிதறித்தூவ, inf. The scatter loosely, to strew. சிதறியிறைக்க, inf. To scatter seeds here and there, commonly in sowing. 2. To squander one's property, பொருளை யழிக்க. 37)

ciṉṉāpiṉṉm (p. 190) s. [prop. சின்னபின் னம்.] Pieces mangled; hacked or slashed pieces--as in battle; broken fragments, பொடிப்பொடியானது. (c.) சின்னாபின்னப்பட, inf. To be mangled, hacked, cut to pieces; to be broken or shattered; to be massacred. 15)
