ūmṇai (p. 70) s. A person habitually silent, taciturn, unable to speak freely, பேசத்திறமில்லாதவன். 2. That which is defective, clumsily done, அழகில்லாதது. ஊமணைச்சட்டி, s. [prov.] A chatty not well baked in the kiln, mis-shappen, &c., and that does not conduct the heat well. ஊமணையன்--ஊமணாமூஞ்சி, s. [prov.] A stupid, sullen, pouting person, one with an ugly or forbidding countenance, அவலட்சணமுகத்தான். ஊமணையுரல், s. A bad-formed mortar, not well-formed in its waist, or centre. 5)

mṉṉai (p. 347) s. [vul. மென்னை.] The throat, தொண்டை. (c.) 2. [prov.] Anger, displeasure, கோபம். 3. Bloated cheeks, கதுப்பு. மன்னையிறங்குதல், v. noun. Putting on a gruff, pouting countenance [opprobriously.] மன்னையைப்பிடிக்க, inf. To take' one by the throat. மன்னையைப்பிடித்துறந்துவிட்டது.
