puẕuku (p. 327) s. [also புணுகு.] Musk, civet; also the perfume of the zibet or Vivena Zibetha-Civet is of different kinds, named from the process of extraction, தட்டுப்புழுகு, civet extracted from the dried and beaten flesh of the animal; வழிப்புப்புழுகு, that which is taken out of its ventricle; வைப்புப்புழுகு, that discharged by the civet-cat. புழுகுசட்டம், s. The ventricle or sack in the civet-cat, in which the perfume is generated. புழுகுசட்டந்தட்ட, inf. To extract the civet from its bag. See சட்டந்தட்ட. புழுகுசம்பா, s. A fine fragrant kind or rice. See சம்பா. புழுகுசாத்த, inf. To anoint with civet. புழுகுப்பிள்ளை--புழுகுப்பூனை, s. A species of civet-cat. See நாவி. 42)

puẕukkm (p. 327) s. Sultriness from closeness of air, heat of a fervid sun or heat of the body, உஷ்ணம். 2. [fig.] Grief, chagrin, disappointed or injured feelings. மனவ ருத்தம். 3. Envy, பொறாமை; [ex புழுங்கு, v.] (c.) புழுக்கமாயிருக்கிறது. It is very close. 43)

puẕukku (p. 327) கிறேன், புழுக்கினேன், வேன், புழு க்க, v. a. To boil gently, or slightly, to parboil, அவிக்க. 2. [fig.] To scorch, as the sun, தீய்க்க. புழுக்கு, v. noun. Boiling. 2. adj. Slightly boiled, parboiled. புழுக்கொடியல், s. Palmyra roots parboiled, and then dried in the sun. (Jaff.) 46)

puẕukkai (p. 327) s. The dung of sheep, rats, &c., as பிழுக்கை. 2. [also பிழுக்கை.] A slave male or female, அடிமை. 3. See புழு, v. n. தனக்கென்றால்புழுக்கைகலங்கழுவியுண்ணாது. If the plate to his own, the slave will not even clean it, i. e. he does only what he is forced to do. புழுக்கைச்சி--பிழுக்கச்சி, s. A female slave, அடிமைப்பெண். புழுக்கையன், s. A male slave. 47)
