I will remove the obstacles, obviate objections, break the enchantments which prevent success --as in fishing, &c. வீரனுமவன்றலையறுத்தான். And Veeran cut off his head. இருளறுத்தெழுங்கதிர். The rising sun which exterminates the darkness. அறுமணை, s. An instrument for cutting vegetables, fish, &c. 2. A slut, slatterer. 3. A woman ugly or deformed in features. (c.) அறுவடை, v. noun. The act of reaping the corn. அறுவரி, s. A tax paid at fixed times. அறுவிதி, s. Decision. வழக்கறுக்க, inf. To decide a case. ஆடறுக்க, inf. To slay sheep. அறுப்பு, v. noun. Sundering, separating, cutting a part, reaping, &c., அரிகை. 2. A piece, section, அறுத்ததுண்டு. 3. An imprecation of widowhood--in allusion to the sundering of the marriage ornament at the death of the husband, தாலியறுக்கை. 4. The opening of a wound, an open cut, &c., அறுவாய். 5. The opening made in sawing a piece of timber, மரமுதலியவையினறுவாய். 6. Confutation, refutation of another's arguments, ஆட்சேபிக்கை. அறுப்புக்காலம், s. The time of harvest. அறுப்புண்க, inf. avukkvukkeṉl (p. 31) v. noun. Sounding as hawking, vomiting, &c., severely and in quick succession, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. 2. Being eager, hasty, earnest, விரைதல். (c.) அவுக்கவுக்கென்றுதின்கிறான். He eats greedily, hastily, &c. அவு்ககவுக்கென்றுவாந்திக்கிறான். He is vomiting greatly. நாய் அவுக்கவுக்கென்று விழுகிறது. The dog attacks (us) barking eagerly. அவுக்கவுக்கென்று வேலைசெய்கிறான். He works with great diligence, or with eagerness, for his pay. அவுக்கவுக்கென்றோடுகிறான், He runs about his business with great eagerness. 15)

āẕu (p. 43) --ஆழ், கிறது, ஆழ்ந்தது, ஆழும், ஆழ, v. n. To be depressed, be deep, profound, &c., அழுந்த. 2. To sink, be immersed, be overwhelmed, to plunge, தாழ. 3. To be intense, severe, உரக்க. ஆழ்துயர்க்கடலினாழ்ந்தான். He plunged into a sea of the deepest affliction. அவனாழ்துயிலுற்றபின். After he has fallen into deep sleep. (பாரதம்.) ஆழ்ந்தகருத்து, s. iṟu (p. 57) கிறது, இற்றது, ம், இற, v. n. To break, to be snapped off--as a stick, a rope; to be severed--as a limb, to be broken, lopped or cut off, be truncated, ஒடிய. 2. To perish, die, to be slain, சாவ. 3. To end, terminate, cease, become extinet, முடிவுற. 4. To decay, moulder, crumble, to be corroded; to decay--as a bone, கெட. (p.) அந்தக்குடியிற்றிறந்துபோயிற்று. That family has been reduced to indigence, and ruined. இறுமுறி, s. A discharged bond from which a piece is torn off. இறுவதஞ்சாமை, neg. v. noun. Fearlessness of loss--one of the eight qualities of a merchant, வணிகரெண்குணத் திலொன்று. இறுவரை, s. End, முடிவு. செறுநரைக்காணிற்சுமக்கவிறுவரைகாணிற்கிழக்கா ந்தலை. On seeing your foes, take them on your head (show them all attention); when the time of their departure comes, they will fall head-long of themselves. இறுவரையும்--இறுமளவும். Until death. இறுவாய், s. End, termination, இறுதி. இற்றுப்போக, inf. To be broken. இற்றுவிழ, inf. To break off and fall. குலையிற்றுவிழுந்தது. The bunch of fruit is fallen off. இறல், v. noun. Destruction, கேடு. இறுதி, s. End, termination, ending, expiration of a term, &c., முடிவு. 2. Death, perishing, extinction, சாவு. 3. Limit, bound, extent, எல்லை. உயிரிறுதியளவுங்கைவிடேன். uñṟṟu (p. 59) கிறேன், உஞற்றினேன், வேன், உஞற்ற, v. a. To enterprise, act will energy, attend to with energy and perseverance, to perform, execute, முயற்சி செய்ய. 2. To institute a lawsuit, prosecute, வழக்கோத. (p.) உலைவின்றித்தாழாதுஞற்றுபவர். Those who persevere with untiring energy. பலதருமம்பதியபிமதமற்றுஞற்றினள். To speak with harshness, severity, anger, &c., குரூர மாய்ப்பேச. 4. (p.) To leap over, pass over, கடக்க. 5. To jump, குதிக்க. உறுக்கிக்கேட்க, inf. ūṉṟu (p. 72) கிறேன், ஊன்றினேன், வே ன், ஊன்ற, v. a. To plant, set, fix, place firmly, rest upon with pressure--as a pole in propelling, fixing a boat, a musket, a lever, &c., நிறுத்த. 2. To lay down premises in an argument, நியாயத்திற்குமூலத்தைஸ்தாபிக்க. 3. To grasp, hold, strike root as trees, gain a firm footing, become established in a place, இறுகப்பிடிக்க. 4. v. n. To lean upon, recline, or depend on a staff, a person, &c., சார. 5. To be steadfast, firm, intent upon, உறுதியாய்நிற்க. ஊன்றக்கொடுத்ததடியென்னுச்சியையுடைக்கிறது. The staff which I gave him to lean upon, breaks my head; i. e. the good I have done him has turned out evil. கையூன்றிக்கரணம்போடவேண்டும். To tumble, the hands must be fixed on the ground; i. e. nothing can be done without money, means, &c. மழையூன்றிப்பேய்கிறது. It rains hard or incessantly. மேகங்காலூன்றிமழைபெய்தது. The clouds resting on the horizon poured down torrents. நிலத்திற்சிக்கெனவூன்றியவேர். Roots stuck firmly in the ground. ஒத்தகடப்பாட்டிற்றாளுன்றியெய்து. Exerting themselves in their proper calling. ஊன்றக்கட்ட, inf. To edify, ratify. ஊன்றிக்கேட்க, inf. To interrogate with much emphasis, press for an answer, உறுதியாய்வினாவ. 2. To hear attentively, கருத்தாய்ச்செவிகொடுக்க. ஊன்றிக்கொள்ள inf. To gain a firm footing in a place, office, &c.; to establish one's self, நிலைபெற. 2. To lean or depend upon, சார்ந்திருக்க. ஊன்றிச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak, or pronounce with distinct articulation, உறுதியாய்ச்சொல்ல. ஊன்றித்தாங்க, inf. To walk with a firm foot so as to secure a quick pace. கோலையூன்றிக்கொண்டுநடக்கிறான். He walks with the assistance of a staff. ஊன்றிப்படிக்க, inf. To read poetry with proper pauses. 2. To sing with proper articulation, emphasis, &c. ஊன்றிப்பார்க்க, inf. To look steadfastly, intently, &c., நோக்கிப்பார்க்க. 2. To consider a thing maturely, to fix the mind intently on the object of consideration, ஆராய்ந்துபார்க்க. 3. To feel, try--as a fruit, &c., pressing it with the hand, கையினாலழுத்திப்பார்க்க. ஊன்றிப்பிடிக்க, inf. To seize firmly, hold tight, இறுகப்பிடிக்க. 2. A flying insect which, on contact, emits moisture that causes a burning smart and a discoloring of the skin, ஓர்பூச்சி. எரிமணி, s. Sparkling jewels, bright gems, பிரகாசமுள்ளமணி. எரிமுகி, s. You must give a hint, throw in a word, &c., bearing on the object, take the first step toward it. எறிவு, v. noun. Throwing, casting. எறி, க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To shine brilliantly--as the sun; to emit rays; to glitter as jewels, ஒளிசெய்ய. இழைசுடரெறிந்தலானும். By the brightness of the jewels that blazed around. (நைட.) கதிரெறிக்குநன்மணி. eṟumpu (p. 75) s. An ant, emmet, pismire, உறவி. எறும்பூருகின்றது. The ant runs or creeps. எறும்புப்புற்று--எறும்புவளை, s. An ant's hole. கட்டெறும்பு, s. A kind of ant whose bite causes swelling, acute pain Formica compressa, Fabr. முசிட்டெறும்பு--முசிற்றெறும்பு, (s.) [prop. முயிறு]. A kind of large red ant which makes its nest on trees, and whose bite is very painful, Formica elongata, Fabr.
