imai (p. 47) s. The eye-lid, கண்ணிமை. 2. A twinkle, twinkling of the eye, கண் ணிமைப்பொழுது. 3. (p.) A small or minute thing, a particle, அற்பம். 4. A bear, கரடி. 5. A peacock, மயில். கண்ணிமைகைந்நொடியளவேமாத்திரை. The time of a twinkling of the eye, or snapping of the finger is the duration of a மாத்திரை. இமைகொட்ட, inf. To twinkle, இமைக்க. இமைக்குழிவு, s. A hollow formed within the eye-lid, causing acute pain. இமையவர்--இமையோர், s. The gods who never sleep nor wink, வான வர். (p.) இமையவர்வேந்தன், s. Indra the king of the gods, இந்திரன். இமையாட, inf. To twinkle--as the eyes. இமையில், s. Garuda--the watchful bird that never shuts its eyes--the vehicle of Vishnu, கருடன். (p.) 18)

kṭi (p. 87) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To bite, bite off, crop, gnaw, nibble, grasp with, or hold in the mouth, to champ, பல்லாற்கறிக்க. 2. To hurt, pinch, gall --as new shoes, a new ring, &c., செருப்புமு தலியகாலையழுத்த. காதையிந்தக்கடுக்கன்மிகக்கடிக்கிறது. This earring pinches my ear very much. காலைச்செருப்புக்கடித்துப்போட்டது. The sandal has galled my foot. கையைக்கடியாமலிருக்கப்பார்க்கிறார். He takes care that the expense shall not fall on himself. சற்றுப்பல்லைக்கடித்துக்கொண்டிரு. Be patient, hold still a little, lit. bite your teeth and be still. ஒருமனிதனைக்கடித்துப்பிடுங்கலாமோ. Should one fall foul on a person and compel him? முயிறுகடித்துப்பிடித்துக்கொண்டது. The red ant is biting me, has laid fast hold of me. கடிநாய், s. A vicious, snappish dog, கடிக்கிறநாய். 2. (fig.) A surly person, a cynic, துஷ்டன். கடிப்பான், s. Condiment, a sauce, கறி. கடிவாளம், s. A bridle, கலினம். கடிவாளம்போடுதல்--கடிவாளம்மா ட்டுதல், v. noun. Bridling a horse. கடிவாளம்வாங்க--கடிவாளங்கழற்ற, inf. To unbridle. கடிவாளம்வெட்டுதல், v. noun. Slackening and pulling in the reins. கடிவாளவார், s. Reins of a bridle. கடி, v. noun. Biting, கடிக்கை. 2. A bite, கடித்தவடு. கடிபிடி, v. noun. [vul.] Scuffle, snarling, biting, &c. கடிவாய், s. The lips of a wound occasioned by a bite. கடிவாய்வடு, s. The scar remaining after a wound caused by a bite, a cicatrice. காணாக்கடி, s. The bite of an insect, &c., concealed. பொய்க்கடி, s. A bite which does not hurt--as that of a dog in play. 48)

The ten faults or defects in a literary composition. 1. குன்றக்கூறல், a partial statement--saying too little. 2. மிகைபடக்கூறல், redundancy-saying too much. 3. கூறியதுகூறல், tautology--repetition. 4. மாறுகொளக்கூறல், inconsistency--contradictory statements. 5. வழூஉச்சொற்புணர்த்தல், the employment of improper or inappropriate words and terms. 6. மயங்கவைத்தல், obscurity, mystification. 7. வெற்றெனத்தொடுத்தல், emptiness, barrenness. 8.மற்றொன்றுவிரித்தல், digression--introducing another subject. 9. சென்றுதேய்ந்திறுதல், gradual loss of vigor and tone. 1. நின்றுபயனின்மை, useless statements; verbosity; bombast. இமைக்குற்றங் கண்ணுக்குத்தெரியாது. The eye does not see the defect of the eyelashes; i. e. one's own errors, and those of his family and friends, are unnoticed. குற்றங்கடிய, inf. To avoid guilt. குற்றங்களைய, inf. The eye is suddenly blinded; (lit.) broken by lightning &c. தெறிபட்டுப்போயிற்று. It has failed, come to naught. தெறிப்பான். He will burst asunder; a curse. தெறிக்கடிக்க, inf. [prop. தெறிக்கஅடி க்க.] To scatter, disperse, as an army; to beat or hammer so as to cause bursting, or to make a part fly off, to confound, to puzzle in controversy. தெறிக்கப்பேச, inf. To speak so as to offend, to break up friendship. தெறித்தவன், appel. n. A man of cruel conduct; used in cursing. தெறித்துவிழ, s. To strike on some thing in falling. 2. To burst to pieces; spoken of one who so acts as to reader himself liable to a curse. தெறிபதம், s. Spirtling of medicinal oil when boiling. தெறி, v. noun. Spattering, splash, spirt, சிதறுகை. தெறிப்பு, v. noun. Rebound, recoil, flying back, resilence, உதைந்துமீள்கை. 2. Spirit, spatter, splash, dash, சிந்துகை. 3.
