kuṭukuṭu (p. 117) s. A rumbling noise, a guggling or sound of water running out of a vessel with a narrow mouth, ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. குடுகுடுக்க, inf. To rumble; to rattle. 2. To be in a great hurry. குடுகுடுகிழவன், s. A tottering, decrepit man; a very old man, தளர்ந்தவய தோன். குடுகுடுக்கை, s. A dry cocoanut in which the kernel rattles, காய்ந்தொலிக்குந் தேங்காய். குடுகுடுப்பை, s. Any thing hollow with a rattling inside, குடுகுடுக்கும்பொருள். 2. A small kind of taborine, ஓர்விதப்பறை. 3. [prov.] A wooden clapper for scaring away birds, மாமணி. தலைகுடுகுடுப்பைப்பற்றிப்போயிற்று. [prov.] The head is become very dry from want of oil. குடுகுடுப்பைக்காரன், s. A sooth-saying beggar with a குடுகுடுப்பை taborine. குடுகுடெனல், v. noun. Gurgling, rattling, rushing, &c., ஒலிக்குறிப்பு. குடுகுடென்றோடுகிறான். He shuffles along very fast. 8) *

pṭpṭttl (p. 291) --படபடப்பு, v. noun. Being over-hasty in speech or action, being precipitant through fear, anger, &c., தீவரித்தல். 2. Shivering or tottering with cold, fever, ague, &c., துடித்தல். 3. Quivering as the lips, &c., உதடுதுடித்தல். 4. Being in agitation, through rage, கோபக் குறிப்பு. 5. Rattling, as things falling, rolling, breaking, ஈரடுக்கொலிக்குறிப்பு. 6. Flapping as a flag or sail, அடித்தல். (c.) இத்தனைபடபடப்புஆகாது. Such a hastiness is bad. 34)

Bursting, shivering, breaking, falling with a rattling noise வெடித்தல். 5. Hurrying, as one preparing for a journey, தீவரித்தல். (c.) படபடென்றுபேசினான். He spoke hastily. படபடென்றுவீடுவிழுந்தது. The house fell with a rattling noise. உதடுபடபடென்றுதுடிக்கிறது. The lips quiver greatly. கண்படபடென்றுதுடித்தது. The eye quivered rapidly. கயிறுபடபடென்றுதெறித்தது. The cord burst suddenly with a snapping noise. எனக்குஉடம்புபடபடென்றுவருகிறது. I am entirely exhausted. கூதிர்படபடென்றுஅடிக்கிறது. The cold mekes one quake. 35) *
