iṟkku (p. 57) கிறேன், இறக்கினேன், வேன், இறக்க, v. a. To lower, let or hand down; put down--a load, &c., தாழ்த்த. 2. To land a person or thing, கரைக்கிறக்க. 3. To unburden the mind, relieve one's self or another of a heavy care, கவலையொழிக்க. 4. To reduce, bring down, கீழ்ப்படுத்த. அவனுடையகொழுப்பிறக்கிப்போடுவேன். I will bring down his fat; i. e. his pride. விஷத்தையிறக்கினான். He has subdued, or counteracted the effect of, the poison. ஒருதரத்திலேயிறக்கிப்போடு. Take it all down at once. இறக்குதுறை. eḥku (p. 73) கிறது, எஃகினது, ம், எஃக, v. n. To be elastic, stretchable, நெகிழ. 2. To become stretched or drawn out, நீள. 3. To become unfastened, unclasped, unloosed, &c., அவிழ. 4. To spring back, rebound--as a bent bow, bamboo, &c., எதிர் தாக்க. 5. To be lifted, drawn, or carried-as by a well beam, தாழ்ந்தெழும்ப. 6. kẕṟṟu (p. 98) கிறேன், கழற்றினேன், வேன், கழற்ற, v. a. To unloose, unfasten, loosen, unhang, unhinge, unlock, unhook, unbolt, unrivet, uncrew, unbutton, unfetter, &c., கழலச்செய்ய. 2. To strip, take off (clothes, jewels, &c.). unclothe, divest, put off the shoes, hat, head-dress, &c; to dismantle, unrig, ஆடைமுதலியனகழற்ற. 3. The poetic தளை are of seven kinds embracing four classes. I. ஆசிரி யத்தளை. connexion of ஆசிரியம் verse of two species. 1. நேரொன்றாசிரீயத்தளை, combination of simple syllables in the ஆசிரியம் connexion, or of one simple ஆசிரியம் foot, with another. 2. நிரையொன்றாசிரியத்தளை, combination of compound syllables, or the connexion of one compound ஆசிரியம் foot, with another. II. வெண்டளை, connexion of வெண் பா verse, also of two species. 1. வெண்சீர் வெண்டளை, combination of genuine வெண்சீர் foot, or of one வெண்சீர் foot with another foot, biginning with a simple syllable 2. இயற்சீர்வெண்டளை, combination of simple, or ஆசிரியம் feet, or connexion of an ஆசிரியம் foot ending with a compound syllable with another foot beginning with a simple syllable, or vice versa. III. கலித்தளை, connexion of the கலிப்பா verse, being single, viz.; that of வெண்சீர் foot ending with a syllable with another foot beginning with a compound syllable. IV. வஞ்சித்தளை, connexion of வஞ்சி verse of two species. 1. ஒன்றியவஞ்சித்தளை, combination of compound syllables, or of one வஞ்சி foot with another foot beginning with a compound syllable. 2. ஒன்றாதவஞ்சித்தளை, combination of a compound with a simple syllable, or of one வஞ்சி foot with another beginning with a simple syllable. For syllables and feet and their different species, see அசை and சீர். வளைபட்டகைமாதொடு மக்களெனுந் தளைபட்டழியத் தகுமோதகுமோ. To be bound, confined, restrained, கட்டுப்பட. தளைப்பூட்ட--தளைபோட, inf. To fetter, to shackle. தளைப்பொருத்தம், s. Harmonious combination of the தளை, in verse, தளையினிணக்கம். தளையவிழ, inf. To blossom as a flower, பூமலர. 2. To be unbound, to be unrestrained, கட்டவிழ. தளைவைக்க, inf. [prov.] To invest one with the office of உடையார். தளைவார், s. To cut open the three eyes of the cocoa-nut. மனந்திறந்துசொல்ல, inf. To unbosom one's self, tell one's mind freely. வாய்திறக்க, inf. To lower one's self by asking favors of a mean person. திறவு--திறப்பு, v. noun. An opening, aperture. 2. Way, means, வழி. திறவறிய, inf. To know how to reveal secret things. 2. (R.) pṟi (p. 303) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To pluck, to crop, to pick off with a twist, கொய்ய. 2. To weed, eradicate, பிடுங்க. 3. To snatch, twitch away, tear off, wrench, திருகிப்பறிக்க. 4. To take by force, to usurp, to grasp, to extort, to rob, to plunder, to confiscate, வலிதிற்கவர. 5. To dig out, to excavate, தோண்ட. 6. To unload, unlade, discharge, இறக்க.--Note The most common compounds are, அஸ்தி வாரம்பறிக்க, to dig for a foundation; களைபறிக்க, to weed; தேங்காய்பறிக்க, to pluck cocoa-nuts; தட்டிப்பறிக்க, to get by stratagem; பூப்பறிக்க, மலர்பறிக்க, to crop flowers; பணம்பறிக்க, to juggle away money; மண்பறிக்க, to dig out earth; வெட்டிப்பறிக்க, to root up a tree, or undermine a wall. பறித்தகாட்டுக்குப்பயமில்லை. There is nothing to fear in a jungle, where a robbery has just been committed பறிமுதல், s. Confiscated property. 2. Things plundered from a single person. பறி, v. noun. A highway-man. பறிகொடுத்தல், v. noun. Being robbed, bereaved, &c. பறிதலைச்சமணர்--பறிதலையர், s. One of the two classes of Jainas, so called because they pluck all the hair from their heads to avoid vermin and so to prevent taking away life. செடிகொள்பறிதலையமணர்.
