An inauspicious time--as twilight, noon, &c., when demons are about, an unseasonable time for the performance of an action, ஒவ்வாதநேரம். எல்லைக்கட்டு, s. A boundary, demarkation, வரம்பு. 2. v. noun. Restraint, circumseription, கட்டுப்பாடு. எல்லைக்கல், s. A stone to mark a limit, a land-mark. எல்லைக்காவல், s. A watch-shed, &c., to mark the division of one field from another, ஊரெல்லையிற்காக்கும்வயற்கா வல். எல்லைக்குறிப்பு, s. Boundarymark, land-mark, எல்லையடையாளம். 2. Milestones, mileposts, வழியளவைக்குறிப்பு. எல்லைக்கேடு, s. Inconvenience, want of opportunity, சமயமொவ்வாமை. 2. Unsuitableness, or inconvenience in regard to place, ஸ்தானமொவ்வாமை. எல்லைத்தீ, s. The fire-deluge, the fire that destroys all things at the close of an age, ஊழ்த்தீ. எல்லைப்படுத்த, inf. To limit, to settle a boundary, அளவுபடுத்த. 2. ekkṇṭm (p. 73) s. [prop. ஏககண்டம்.] A whole, not made up of parts, pieces, &c., மொத்தம். எக்கண்டமும்பிழை. It is full of faults, it is all wrong. எக்கண்டப்பரப்பு, s. A sheet of one piece. எக்கண்டமாய்நெய்ய, inf. To weave a whole piece. எக்கண்டமாய்வீங்க, inf. To be swollen all over. எக்கண்டமானபலகை, s. A whole board. எக்கண்டமானபீரங்கி, s. A cannon that is one solid piece. எக்கண்டமானபுடவை, s. A whole piece of cloth. 8)

eṟṟu (p. 75) கிறேன், எற்றினேன், வேன், எற்ற, v. a. To cast, throw off, to jerk away under-handed, side-handed, &c.; to toss, cast out--as water from a vessel with force, throw water from a pool, a channel with the feet in watering plants, &c.; to kick a thing away, எறிய. 2. To strike, அடிக்க. 3. To cuff, to strike with the fist, புடைக்க. 4. To cut, cut asunder, cut down, வெட்ட. 5. To pierce, stab, குத்த. 6. To kill, கொல்ல. முரசமெற்றினர். Casting, jerking, எறிகை. 2. Warding off, striking off, தட் டுகை. ஓரெற்றிலேயெற்றிப்போட்டான். He cast it away at once. 35)

ellām (p. 74) s. All, the whole, every, முழுதும். Like other universal terms, this admits உம், which however is often omitted, when the word is not used as a prefix; when it occupies the place of an adjective, its ம் is lost, and உம் is added to the word which it qualifies.--Note. In classical usage எல்லாம் takes அற்று as its declining particle--as மரமெல்லாவற்றையுங்கண்டான், he has seen all the trees. எல்லாத்திசைகளும். The whole horizon. எல்லாநம்மையும். All of us. எல்லீர்நும்மையும். All of you. எல்லாப்பூமியும்--பூமியெல்லாம். All the land, the whole of the land. 2. The whole earth. எல்லாரும்--எல்லோரும். All persons, அனை வரும். எல்லாரையும்--எல்லார்தம்மையும். All of them. எல்லோமும். We all, all of us, நாமெல்லாம். நீங்ககெல்லாரும். Impr. for நீவிரெல்லாரும். அவர்களெல்லாரும். All of them.--Note. The superlative being unknown in Tamil, the comparative is employed, as in the following and similar instances. The universality of the term gives it a superlative meaning. எல்லாரிலுமேலானவர். The greatest of all. 2. The most high. அதுஎல்லாவற்றிலும்மேலானது. It is the highest of all. 8)

To collect dung. எருக்கட்டு, v. noun. The folding of sheep, or tying of cows for manure, கிடைவைக்கை. 2. s. A spot of land thus manured, கிடைவைத்தகொல்லை. எருக்களம், s. To manure land, வயலுக்கெருப்பெய்ய. 2. To pass excrement--as cows, &c., சாணியிட. எருமணம், s. The smell of dung, சாணிநாற்றம். எருமுட்டை, s. Cowdung dried in the sun and used for fuel, வறட்டி. காட்டெருமுட்டை, s. Cowdung found dry in pasture grounds. எருமுட்டைப்பீநாறி, s. A plant, வெதுப்படக்கி. எருவடைக்க, inf. To fold sheep, or tie cows for manure, எருப்பெய்ய. எருவறட்டி, s. Cowdung made in cakes and stuck against a wall to dry, or as found dry in jungles--used as fuel, எருமுட்டை. எருவாரம், s.
