kūcu (p. 133) கிறேன், கூசினேன், வேன், கூச, v. n. To be shy, bashful, coy, diffident; to shrink back, to be timid, ashamed, அஞ்ச, நாண. 2. To be tender or weak--as an eye, a foot, &c., or as teeth set on edge, கண்முதலியகூச. 3. (fig.) To recoil--as a hand or foot, through fear, sorrow, delicacy, deference, &c., அச்சக்குறிப்புக்காட்ட. 4. To be ticklish, to shrink from tickling, கூச்சங்கொள்ள. பல்லுக்கூசுகிறது. My teeth are set on edge. கூசாமற்பேச, inf. To speak without fear, or diffidence. 2. To declare without reserve. கூசிப்பார்க்க--கூசிவிழிக்க, inf. To look with tender eyes. 2. To squint, to look with the eyes half shut, and the eye-brows knit. கூ கண்கூச, inf. To be weak in sight. To shrink from appearing, or performing before an assembly. பழிக்குக்கூச, inf. To fear blame, or reproach. மனங்கூச, inf. To be shy, diffident, bashful. 2. To loathe disgusting objects. 3. To be loth to think evil of one. வாய்கூச, inf. To be reluctant to utter improper things, &c. கூச்சம்--கூசல் v. noun. Shyness, bashfulness, diffidence, shame-facedness; modesty, delicacy, நாணம். 2. Tenderness or weakness of a limb, an eye, &c., causing a shrinking from its functions, &c., பல்முதலியகூசுகை. 3. Ticklishness, tickling, titilation, கூசுகை. 4. Timidity, fear, apprehension, அச்சம். 5. [local.] Properly. கூர்ச்சம்; which see. அக்குள்பாய்ச்சினாற்கூச்சமாயிருக்கும். If you put your fingers in one's arm-pit, he will feel ticklish. கூச்சக்காரன், s. A shy person. 2. A ticklish person. 3. A bashful, diffident person. கூச்சங்காட்ட--கூச்சப்படுத்த, inf. To tickle, titilate. கூச்சந்தெளிய, inf. To overcome shyness, &c. 2. To get rid of, or out-grow ticklishness. கூச்சந்தெளிந்தவன்--கூச்சமில்லாதவன் --கூச்சந்தீர்ந்தவன், s. One that has overcome shyness; one no longer bashful. கூச்சப்பட, inf. To be shy. 2. To be timid, daunted. 3. To be ticklish. 9) *
