cōṭu (p. 212) --சோடி, s. (Hind.) Pair, couple, brace, set, இரட்டை. 2. Coat of mail, கவசம். 3. Equality, likeness, similarity in person, animals or things, இணை. 4. A pair of Indian shoes, or leathern sandals, தொடுதோல். 5. Gradual increase or decrease of things, in a series, இணையான வை. (c.) சோடுபிரியாமலிருக்கிறார்கள். They are always united, constant in affection. சோடணிந்துசண்டைசெய்ய. To fight a duel, putting on a coat of armor. சோடானஆட்கள். s. Persons of a sort; those of equal appearance, stature, abilities, &c. கோடுபிரியாதஅன்றில், s. The nightingale of India, said to be closely attached to its mate. சோடுகட்ட, inf. To join two kinds together. 2. [in draughts.] To make a set, pair, couple, match, fellow or mate. சோடுபார்க்க, inf. To see whether two persons or things will pair. சோடுபெயர்ந்தகாய், s. [in draughts.] A pair removed, that is, two knobs from the squares, which is unlawful without a lucky fall of the dice. சோடாய்த்திரிய, inf. To go in company with one, to march in file. சோடாய்வளர்க்க, inf. To nurture or train up together. சோடுபோட்டுக்கொள்ள, inf. To put on a pair (of shoes). ஒருசோடுபுறா, s.
