nāṇym (p. 273) --நாணையம், s. Uprightness, honesty, probity, honor, truth, punctuality, நேர்மை. 2. Trust, credit, a good name, superior worth or honor, உண் மை. 3. Extraordinary facts, or supposed facts, in neture, as of the tiger, when missing in a leap, not turning upon the object of his leap; the bos grunniens, when entrapped, making no effort to escape; a cobra retiring from the sight of the நாக தாளி root; the occurrence but once of the small pox, &c;., நிருணயம். 4. Supposed virtue of an action, plant, &c., as the presenting of an herb to the eye as a cure of ophthalmia, தவறாமை. 5. [prov, in combi.] The perforation of the septum of a beast's nose for inserting a rope to guide in, or the rope thus inserted, மூக்குத்துளைத்தல். 6. That which is choice or rare as a commodity, உயர்வு. (c.) நாணயத்தால்கொடுக்கல்வாங்கல், v. noun. Dealing on trust. நாணயக்கயிறு, s. Rope passed through a bullock's nose, to guide it. நாணயக்காரன், s. An upright dealer. நாணயங்காட்டுதல், v. noun. Acquitting one's self honourably. நாணயங்குத்துதல், v. noun. Perforating the septum of a bullock's nose, மாட் டுக்குமூக்குத்துளைத்தல். நாணயசில்லம், s. [prov. vul. சீலம்.] Dishonesty, breach of trust. நாணயச்சரக்கு, s. A commodity of value liable to depreciate from being kept. நாணயஞ்செலுத்துதல், v. noun. Acquitting one's self honorably in business. நாணயத்தப்பு, s. Dishonesty. நாணயபங்கம், s. Loss of credit. 2. Disgrace, as to a woman in appearing before a court. நாணயப்பணம், s.
