The indigo plant, as yielding blue dye, as அவுரி. நீலங்கட்ட, inf. To tie up a cloth, except the borders, corners, &c., and dip it in dye, நீலந்தீர. 2. To forge a great lie, பெரும்பொய்கூற. நீலங்கட்டுப்படப்பேசுகிறான். He lies greatly as he speaks. நீலச்சால், s. A blue dye-pot, a jar used in making indigo or dyeing with indigo. நீலந்தீர--நீலந்தோய்க்க, inf. To dye or tinge with blue. நீலபாஷாணம், s. A kind of prepared arsenic. நீலபுஷ்பம், s. To become bluish as the face, eyes of teeth by poisonous bites; a part hurt by a blow; or an infant by disease, &c., சரீரம்நீலநிறமாக. 2. To be darkened, as the earth in an eclipse caused by the serpent Raku, an eclipse by the other serpent being red. நீலராசாவர்த்தம், s.
