One of the positions in the mystic worship of the Saiva system. நடுநிலைஞாயம், s. The mysticism of the நடுநிலை worship. நடுநிலைமந்திரம், s. An incantation in the Saiva worship, the letters of which are mystic symbols of the forms of deity, or of the idol worshipped. The words are ஆம், ஊம், ஓம், சிவாயநம, in which ஆம், is அடி, basis; ஊம், is நடு, middle; ஓம், is முடி, top; சி, is சிவம், formless deity; வா, is சத்தி, the female principle, obscuration. நடுநிலைமை, s. Mediocrity, middle circumstances in life. நடுநிற்றல், v. noun. Becoming bail or security for one. (not the law term.) 2. Being upright, impartial. நடுநீதி, s. Impartial justice, equity, &c., as நடுநியாயம். நடுப்பகல், inf. Mid-day, noon. (c.) நடுப்படுத்த, inf. As நடுக்கட்ட. நடுப்பார்த்தல், v. noun. He came after the beginning of an affair when half of it was over; he came last. நடுவத்தசாமம்--நடுவத்தொருசாமம், s. [prov.] Midnight. நடுவயது, s. Middle age. நடுவறுத்தல், v. noun. Judging, as an umpire, deciding, discerning, perceiving, comprehending, ascertaining, discussing a controversy. நடுவறுத்தான், appel. n.
