See ஆமலகம்-- Of நெல்லி, there are அருநெல்லி, சிறுநெல்லி, a species of நெல்லி, yielding a sour fruit; கருநெல்லி, the black நெல்லி, the fruit of which is transparent, often used as a figure for the perfect knowledge of a thing; also for the sperm of woman; பெருநெல்லி, a medicinal tree the wood of which improves brackish water; கீழரிநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus simplex; கீழ்காய்நெல்லி, an herb, see கீழ்; நிலநெல்லி, a plant, Phyllanthus Madraspatan. உள்ளங்கைநெல்லிக்கனிபோலே. The kernel of the பெருநெல்லி fruit. It is dried and used in medicine; or soaked in cow's milk, is rubbed on the head, as a refrigerative before bathing. நெல்லிப்பூ, s.
