pẕu (p. 302) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To ripen, to mature, to arrive at perfection, as fruits, grain &c., முதிர. 2. To suppurate, to ripen as a boil, பருக்கனிய. 3. To become grey or hoary, நரைக்க. 4. To change color by age, as ivory or horn; to become pale or yellowish, as the body by disease; to become soiled as the teeth by disease, நிறமாற. 5. To grow mature in knowledge, science, piety; to become fit for bliss, பக்குவமாக. 6. To take a fine blooming color, as gold, பொன்பழுக்க. 7. To become flabby and weak, as the abdomen of a woman after childbirth, through want of stimulants, &c., வயிறுபழுக்க. 8. (fig.) To obtain success, அனுகூலப்பட; also used in irony. அவனுக்குநரைத்துப்பழுத்தது. He is grown grey, from age. பழுக்கச்சுட, inf. To color gold on. the fire, by various ingredients, &c. See சுடு, v. பழுக்கப்போட, inf. To force the ripening of fruits by covering them with straw, &c. 2. To wait the maturity of some great event. பழுக்கவிட, inf. To let fruit ripen on the tree. பழுக்கவைக்க, inf. To put fruits to ripen. பழுத்தகதிர், s. A ripe ear or corn. பழுத்தபழம், s. A yellow ripe fruit, முதிர்ந்தகனி. 2. (fig.) An aged person, முதிர்கிழவன். 3. One mature for liberation from births, பக்குவன். 4. [prov.] One well learned in all kinds of wickedness, &c., மிகுவஞ்சகன்.--For the proverb, see கொம்பு. பழுத்துப்போக, inf. As பழு, v. பழுப்பு, v. noun. Ripeness Yellowness of fruits, change of color, blooming or natural color in gold, as the verb. பழுப்பரிசி, s. Rice turned yellow, or brown, by neglect in drying. பழுப்புப்பொன், s. Gold of a bright yellow hue. பழுப்பேற, inf. To be colored by the goldsmith's art. பழுப்படைய, inf. To contract a yellowish color, as grain.
