pacu (p. 289) s. A cow, பெண்பசு. [the most common usage in Tamil.] 2. A bull, எருது. 3. Taurus of the Zodiac, இடபஇராசி. 4. A living creature, சீவனுடையது. 5. A sacrificial ram, யாகத்துக்குரியஆடு. 6. Any animal, for sacrifice, மிருகம். 7. The soul, a sentient being or principle united with a body, or not; one of the three eternal uncreated principles called பசுபதிபாசம். W. p. 52. PASU. பசுத்தோல்போர்த்துப்புலிப்பாய்ச்சல்பாய்தல்..... Putting on a cow's skin and leaping like a tiger; i. e. assuming mildness, and using ferocity. தன்னைகொல்லவருகிறபசுவைத்தான்கொன்றால்தோ ஷமில்லை. It is not a sin to kill a cow in self-defence. பசுகரணம், s. Faculties of the soul. பசுக்காத்தல், v. noun. One of the six occupations of Vaisyas; the care of flocks. See தொழில். பசுக்காவலர், s. [pl.] Cowherds--the caste, இடையர். 2. Any of the three divisions of the Vaisyas. பசுஞானம், s. Nature, capacity or faculties of the soul. 2. Spiritual knowledge of the second degree, as distinguished from பதிஞானம் and பாசஞானம்; the former only being sufficient for salvation. 3. Limited knowledge of the soul as acquired by the senses. 4. The mode of existence of the soul, being itself intelligent, but subject to non-intelligence, by its moral evil, and connexion with matter. காவேரிக்கரைப்பசுபோல்அலைகிறான். He wanders like a cow on the banks of the Kavery--discontented. பசுத்தக்காளி--பசுவின்தக்காளி, s. A shrub, ஓர்தக்காளி, Physalis. பசுத்துவம், s. (St.) Siva, as lord of souls, சிவன்; [ex பதி, lord.] பசுபதிபாசம், s. The soul, deity and illusion or மாயை. See திரிபதார்த்தம். பசுபாசம், s. The entanglement of the soul with the body. பசுபாவம், s. Sins against creatures, as murder and cruelty, in distinction from sins against God, உயிர்ப்பாவம். பசுபுண்ணியம், s. Meritorious deeds for the benefit of creatures. பசுப்பட்டி-பசுமாட்டுப்பட்டி, s. Avowed hatred. புறப்பக்கம், s. [in log.] An inference regarding secular matters. See பக்கம். புறப்பத்தியம், s. Diet, or regimen, observed after a course of medicine, as மறுபத்தியம்--oppos. to அகப்பத்தியம். புறப்பற்று, s. External attachments, or connexions--oppos. to அகப்பற்று. புறப்பொருள், s. External or state affairs, especially such as relate to war, being a division of the subjects embraced in பொருள். See புறத்திணை. புறமடை, s. An out-side channel for water. 2.
