mrm (p. 344) s. A tree, shrub, plant, any growing vegetable, விருட்சம். 2. Wood, timber, வெட்டுமரம்.--Note. There are three divisions of tree, ஆண்மரம், பெண்மரம், அலி மரம், which see. (c.) மரத்துப்பழம்மரத்தடியிலேவிழும். The fruit of a tree falls near its roots; i. e. sin follows the sinner. மரக்கணு, s. A knot in a tree. மரக்கலம், s. A ship, vessel, bark, boat, நாவாய். மரக்கலமோடுதல், v. noun. [transi. மரக் கலமோட்டுதல்.] Sailing of a ship. See மீகாமன். மரக்கலன், s. A ship-master. (சது.) மரக்கறி, s. Vegetable curries. (c.) மரக்கன்று, s. A young tree. See கன்று. மரக்கா, s. A flower-garden, பூஞ்சோலை; [ex கா.] (சது.) மரக்காரை, s. A kind of tree, ஓர்மரம். மரக்காளான், s. A hard fungus growing on trees. மரக்கோல், s. A blunt arrow, மொட் டம்பு. (p.) 2. A boat-man's pole, தோணித் துடுப்பு. மரங்கசிதல், v. noun. Water dropping from a tree--as from a banyan, &c. மரங்கொத்தி, appel. n. A wood-pecker, ஓர்புள். மரச்செப்பு, s. A wooden box, பரணி. மரச்செறிவு, s. A grove, சோலை. 2. A tree in general, மரப்பொது. (சது.) மரத்துக்கிடக்க, inf. To be paralyzed, stiffened. மரத்துப்போக, inf. To become numb, insensible, hard--like wood, விறைக்க. 2. To be amazed, to be panic-struck, பிரமிக்க; [from Sa. Mru, to die.] (c.) மரத்தோல்--மரப்பட்டை, s. The rind or bark of a tree. மரநா--மரநாக்கு, s. The wooden clapper of a bell. மரநாய், s. The pole-cat, or fitchet. மரப்பத்தல், s. A wooden trough. மரப்புண், s. An open and bad sore, பெரும்புண். (R.) மரப்பெட்டி, s. A wooden box. மரப்பொந்து, s. A hole in a tree. மரமஞ்சள், s. Tree-turmeric, a bitter root, ஓர்மஞ்சள். மரமரிவாள், s. [com. இரம்பம்.] A saw. மரவட்டணம்--மரவட்டம், s. A wooden shield, நெடும்பரிசை. மரவட்டணை, s. A wooden tray, தட்டு. மரவட்டை, s. A wood-leech, a milleped. See ஆயிரக்காலி; [ex அட்டை.] மரவணில், s. A large species of squirrel living in trees--different from மலையணில்; [ex அணில்.] மரவண்டு, s. A kind of boring beetle in trees. மரவள்ளி, s. Tapioca plant, Janipha Manihot. மரவாரை, s. A joist, beam or sleeper. 2. A staff, or pole for carrying any thing by suspension. மரவாணி, s. A wooden pin. See ஆணி. மரவிடை, s. Ground encumbered by trees. See மாவிடை. Five kinds of delusion, or evil, on the principles of Adwitas or followers of Sankaracharya. They are: 1. தமம், the tamasa disposition--darkness, or obscurity of mind; 2. மாயை, ideality, inherent evil, personified matter; 3. மோகம், depravity, error; 4. அவித்தை, ignorance, folly; 5. அநிர்தம், that which is without, or strange, opposed to God. அதோமாயை--அசுத்தமாயை, s. Subordinate or inferior illusion, or Maya. அதோமாயையிலிருந்துபிரகிருதிதோன்றும். The female principle in nature springs from the inferior Maya. சுத்தமாயை--மகாமாயை, s. Primitive or original Maya, as காரணமாயை. மாயாகாரியம், s. The effects of Maya, its various changes, and diversifications in nature. மாயாசங்கற்பம், s. Any remarkable effect of Maya by way of creation or destruction. மாயாசத்தி, s. A power, energy, or principle which contains the five kinds of மாயை, given above. See மாமாயை. மாயாசாலம்--மாயாசித்து, s. Dissimulation, treachery, imposture. மாயாதருமம், s. Transient or deceptive merit, பொய்ப்புண்ணியம். 2. Nature or peculiarity of Maya, மாயையின்றன்மை. மாயாதர்மம், 2. The two peculiarities of Maya are: 1. சங்கோசம், contracting; 2. விகாசம், expanding. மாயாதாரகம், s. That which has Maya for a principal cause. மாயாதாரணை, s. Things formed by Maya, the third of nine classes. See தாரணை. மாயாதேகம், s. A transitory body, நிலை யற்றசரீரம். மாயாதேவி, s. The mother of Buddha, புத்தன்றாய். மாயாதேவிசுதன், s. The son of Maya, Buddha. (சது.) மாயாபஞ்சகம், s. As மாயை, 5. மாயாபாசம், s. Being under the influence of Maya. மாயாபுரி, s. One of the seven famous towns. See புரி. 2. Brass, பித்தளை. மாயாப்பிரதிவிம்பர், s. [hon.] He whose glories, are reflected, in creation, &c., by means of Maya, மாயையாற்பிரதிபலிக்குமுருவு டையோர். (உபநி-124.) மாயாமலம், s. As மாயைமலம். மாயாரூபம், s. Feigned shapes, forms assumed, or caused by super-human powers. மாயாலட்சணம், s. The properties of Maya. They are five; 1. அசத்து, unreality; 2. சடம், matter; 3. அநித்தம், transientness; 4. துக்கம், distress; 5. கண்டம், division, a part. மாயாலீலை, s. Sportive illusions, as of Krishna, Siva, &c. See இலீலை. மாயாவல்லபம், s. The power or efficacy of Maya. மாயாவாதம், s. A religion whose doctrines are false, skepticism, ஓர்மதம். மாயாவாதி, s. Destroyer of Maya, and its evils. (பிரபுலிங்.) 2. One of the above religion, or sect; a skeptic. மயாவித்தை, s. Magic, as மாயவித்தை. மாயாவிமோசனம், s. Removal of Maya. மாயாவினோதம், s. Legerdemain, sportive deception, கண்கட்டுவித்தை. மாயைமலம், s.
